The nails on your digits (fingers and toes) are connected to bones called the distal phalanxes, by important arteries. (This means they’ll bleed like ALL GET OUT if torn, as in caught in a car door: a common injury, since they’re the last part of your hand to get out of the way.) source

The absense of blood suggests this was done post mortem. I figure the Ukrainians desecrated a corpse to falsify evidence of torture, in a bid to garner support. This isn't the first time.

believing anything the news media says about this war

believing anything twitter says about this war

We're doing that now? I thought we were supposed to be better than redditors.

OP is one of the few left wingers here, they'll believe anything.

ActuallyNot is not just a left winger (not bad a bad thing unto itself), but he's a bad-faith liar, sealion, and authoritarian shill - just as stupid and almost as driven as the most prolific socks.

He will, I was just reading another of his comments saying Fauci didn't do Gain of Function. This dude is worse than socks

I was curious about the shitlib position on that, so I went to the authoritative source of liberal propaganda, The Washington Post, and they obfuscate the issue with a bunch of technical talk, but the end point is

But we see no reason to change the Two Pinocchio rating we awarded Paul. There is a split in the scientific community about what constitutes gain-of-function research. To this day, NIH says this research did not meet the criteria — a stance that is not an outlier in the scientific community. Indeed, it appears as if EcoHealth halted the experiment as soon as it seemed to veer in that direction.

Word games. The experiment was quite obviously gain of function, but if they don't call it that, then it isn't to WaPo fact checkers!

This isn't controversial. The NIH has a definition of Gain of Function. That is the definition that Fauci used, because its the fucking relevant definition.

I don't know what you are smoking, but this isn't controversial.

Not controversial? Even left wing intercept says its gain of function

The Intercept consulted 11 scientists who are virologists or work in adjacent fields and hold a range of views on both the ethics of gain-of-function research and the Covid-19 origins search. Seven said that the work appears to meet NIH’s criteria for gain-of-function research.

The majority thought it even met the NIH definition

Your initial position: "You'd have to believe anything to say that Fauci didn't do Gain of Function."

Your position now: "I found a publication in which 7 of a sample of 11 scientists judge that the work would be Gain of Function, so it is controversial".

Good. That's movement.

Left wing, meaning not supporting Russia's invasion of the Ukraine?

Communist Russia?

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (12 children)

You, Socks, and that guy everyone always thinks is Socks share similar ideologies that run counter to most others here.

I personally distrust everything Ukraine says, I don't think they have a shred of credibility left.

[–]ActuallyNot[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

And you think Russia is right-wing?

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

I'm not one of those Ukraine is bad, Russia good Trump fucks. They're both pretty shit.

[–]ActuallyNot[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Is right-wing good?

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Hells no, although I think currently the right is preferable to what's become of liberalism. The left used to be the good guys, fought for people's rights and freedom of speech. They went wacko tho, built upon a shakey foundation of logic so that higher order concepts became an exercise in mental gymnastics devoid of logic.

Personally I'd prefer more viable political parties in the US, but we got the left which has been hijacked by "progressives," Marxists really, and the right that's been jacked by President Cheeto. The latter is the least bad option atm.

Do you think Russia is right-wing?

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I dunno, how would I be familiar with Russian politics.

I believe it when I see a video.

[–]ActuallyNot[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I've seen videos of them shooting civilians.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I'll look for them. Out of curiosity, were you upset by the massive amount of civilian lives lost in the Afghanistan/ Iraq conflicts?

[–]ActuallyNot[S] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah, I was.

Particularly Iraq. As Afghanistan dragged on, I followed it less closely. But I remember the excess mortality from Iraq being really high from the damage to the medical and sewerage infrastructure.

Communist Russia?

Please stop, Russia hasn't been communist since 1991.

Left wing, meaning not supporting Russia's invasion of the Ukraine?

There are people on the left who do not approve of the US role in that conflict (me included). Have a look at the left wing journalists at https://consortiumnews.com/ Being against US involvement in affairs like this used to be an Anti-War leftist position. Almost nobody is 'pro-invasion', but they might point out that when Russia stuck missile bases to close to our sphere of interest in Cuba, we almost started a nuclear war over it. You seem to be in denial about the role we played in this conflict.

Okay.

But they're not very far right. With their free healthcare and free education including your first university degree, if you choose to use the state system.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You just need the ability to count.

Count the number of wars US waged in the last 70 years.

Count the number of wars Russia waged in the last 70 years.

Compare those two numbers. Hopefully this then leads you some actual useful and more importantly sound conclusions.

100% not credible

[–]ActuallyNot[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

What's your reasoning about that?

LA Times

Haha, nope.

BBC

No.

Euronews

Never heard of them.

Do you believe the stories of the Ghost of Kyiv? Poison military rations?

[–]iamonlyoneman 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Like all news from this conflict, I believe this story at face value and am not skeptical at all!

I've been watching Toe Bro to get over my fear of this kind of thing just in case I end up in some kind of torture situation.

It's unlikely but you never know.
