That thing is crazy fast. There's nothing that I know of that can stop that, especially that it's got a powerful AI steering it. Imagine with a nuclear warhead... The target nation would go... "Sir, we have an incoming signatu..." Intense static, radio silence.

It looks almost unstoppable. But there are other secret weapons of which the public has no idea.

Revelation 13:4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

Railguns? Maybe near-relativistic particle shooters might be able to stop that, but last I checked, they require more power than we are able to safely channel. That is, to seriously damage something like that, given the short time in range of such a weapon.

Dude... i built a railgun with basic household equipment and some welding 20 years ago. Clearly not supersonic, but damn strong. It propelled a ball-bearing through a fender without problems. Maybe now is the time to develop a portable version. I read a lot about new supercaps...

Of course "railguns" are easy to make. But a railgun able to take out an AI-steered missile going at Mach 10 is another matter entirely.

Maybe. Maybe not. My intention wasn't to compete with a multi-trillion dollar military-industrial-complex. My intention was to actually do and especially learn something. Which is quite obvious, but i got no problem going the extra-mile for my fellow saiditers.

Yes, but my point is how do you stop an ai-steered missile going at Mach 10. The correct answer isn't "I can make a railgun in my garage."

We're probably looking at a "Star Wars" type defense system. One that disrupts propulsion or guidance by sending a focused beam of energy.

That's a fine idea in theory. How do you make such a system that works at night though. The power requirements are insane.

Just a theory. I have to assume that whatever technology Russia has right now, the U.S. is ahead of them.

LOL really. That is a pretty insane assumption.

Based off what? The amount of money wasted by the military industrial complex?

I'm sure Putin sees to it that the funds HE spends on military development are used diligently.

You don't. That's the point of developing such a thing.

My point being: Even if you "just" do it like a tinkerer it ain't as easy as it may look. It takes a lot of blood, sweat and tears.

And the answer especially ain't : I know how because i read something somebody wrote somewhere on the internet or made a video about, i saw.

The density of the internet keeps on growing, no matter what. I somewhat doubted that a bit but less and less as time keeps on ticking.

You built a rail gun far less powerful than a gun. That is like comparing a bottle rocket to the Saturn 5.

Ok. But i did it. And besides: You don't even know the ball-bearing and how much tweaking, testing and time this did take. But criticize it anyways. This tells a lot about your character.

Has everyone suddenly forgotten that nearly all missiles are hypersonic?

Good point.
