What lies hidden in a name, (a plain sight obsecurity)
opening theme
Q: What's an obsecurity? (a word I made up for fun)
A: twisted out of obscurity and security
origin of company name Google
why the change to Alphabet?
The new entity, wrote Larry Page, was an “alpha-bet (Alpha is investment return over benchmark), which we strive for!”3
IOW it was both a practical technical maneuver relative to legal system, and a pun. Alpha (a stock term) + bet (gambling term)
Secrets hidden in plain sight; if they are hidden, they're either malign or true
What is Wall St., meaning why is this a name for American stock exchange industry?

ownerships; de jure vs de facto
fixed income vs equity
Relative Value, comparing risks
value is like beauty, in the buyer's eye (perception)
value added: sales pitch may alter perception; selling is a process that puts intangible component into market-vehicle, aka product
considered risk-free, US Treasury Bonds may not be true to that imaginary standard, no such thing as 'without risk', but there are plenty of cases of hidden risk (it's free!)
study notes
As reader may see from this post, your host Marginotions, likes freedom to choose what interests you, dear reader. I feature web searches above single item links. Sometimes searches yield diddly, in which case I go to another search or pick one hit. Google is way too lefty-biased, but sometimes ducks miss, so I try it anyway, bing too. Also, ducks yield brief addresses while Google dumps a load.
I like fun too, but my "humor" is likely to be some kind of funky wording. Fun is like beauty, in the mind of the reader.
