U.S. army vs German army
submitted 4 years ago by TheJamesRocket from self.WW2Myths
Which army was better trained, better led, and more cohesive: The U.S. army, or the German army? This is a very important question which has the potential to explain why the campaign in Europe unfolded in the manner it did. Namely, why the Anglo-American armys with numerical and material superiority (along with complete control of the air) took so long to defeat the German army, which was heavily engaged on the Eastern front.
The following articles/threads each look at the question from a different perspective, and come to a conclusion that is unflattering to the U.S. army. Their reputation as the greatest military of the war looks quite undeserved.
