Thanks for the info.

Since the sub is established there's no way to change it and I don't see much point in making a new one next week. Because SaidIt is freer than Reddit I'm in favour of being clear with titles rather than being lazy or obscuring it with initials, especially for fringe or disturbing topics. Of course there's no rule yet and may never be. Exceptions may obviously apply to common names or names longer than 24 characters, like "MilitaryIndustrialComplx". It may be worthwhile adding a blurb to the sub description in the sidebox, much like /s/WatchPeopleDie/ , maybe even link to that sub too and link back from there since you're sub there too.

I'm not a fan of the icky stuff but I am a fan of free speech.

I also like organizing stuff, but not dictating how it should be organized.

(I just noticed spell check doesn't care if it's organised or organized.)

I recommend you check out: /s/SaidIt/wiki/ for two reasons: the FAQ for answers and to emulate.

Every time someone asks the same question you can answer it and add it to a wiki on your sub. It's an option in "sub settings". You can make it private, public but locked, or open for anyone to edit.

About me: /s/SaidIt/wiki/jasoncarswell

Start your own user pages there if you like.

Yeah I get it. I could remake it honestly, but that was never why we named it WPDTalk. It's because we always say WPD in conversation and "watchpeopledietalk" just seems so long. We have a Telegram group and we all know each other fairly well if you ever want to drop by.

We will definitely work on the CSS and wording of our rules. I'll probably copy over a few of my r/cringetopia rules:

1.1: Agendaposting: If it becomes clear that your activity in this subreddit is dominated by fixating on a single issue, you will be confronted and you may be banned. It is okay to have strong opinions on an issue, but do not let them dominate your activity to the point where you are flooding the sub trying to push an agenda. This is an equal opportunity rule.

1.2: Be Civil: If you want to discuss politics or controversial/taboo topics in the comments you are free to do so as long as you can keep it civil. Your ideas will not get you banned, but the manner in which you choose to express them can and will.

I'm a big believer in free speech too but on the internet people sometimes need a little guidance on how to not act like total cunts.

SaidIt keeps it classy by banning the lower levels of the Debate Pyramid.

This is good.
