At the time of CMR, high-sensitivity troponin T (hsTnT) was detectable (greater than 3 pg/mL) in 71 patients recently recovered from COVID-19 (71%) and significantly elevated (greater than 13.9 pg/mL) in 5 patients (5%).'

Troponin is a protein that is found in heart muscle tissue. When heart muscle tissue is injured, troponin is released into the bloodstream. This means 76 of the 100 post-covid patients in that study were still suffering ongoing cardio damage at the time of the study.

'Compared with healthy controls and risk factor–matched controls, patients recently recovered from COVID-19 had lower left ventricular ejection fraction, higher left ventricle volumes, and raised native T1 and T2. A total of 78 patients recently recovered from COVID-19 (78%) had abnormal CMR findings, including raised myocardial native T1 (n = 73), raised myocardial native T2 (n = 60), myocardial late gadolinium enhancement (n = 32), or pericardial enhancement (n = 22).’

Lower left ventricular fraction means the heart was not pumping the proper amount of blood out of the left ventrical when it contracts. This is a classic sign of a damaged heart. Higher left ventricular volume is also a sign of damage. It means more blood than is normal is entering the left ventrical because damage to the muscle tissue has left it floppy and less tight than a healthy heart.

So when that new Israeli study says there was no increase in cardio problems in post covid patients they have to be lying.
