I'm withholding judgment as there's no information available about the original and it hasn't been confirmed to be from 1930. But if it is: holy shit.

Yep. The animation style and stuff seems legit from that era, even if not documented and verified. Would seem like a lot of trouble for a fake. Not sure why it's recorded so poorly. I was wondering if it was possible that it was clips from different things of the era compiled together. If it is all in a single original film that's some powerful stuff.

I got curious about this again, and it appears to be an elaborate fake. I figured you might want to know as well. Check out the comments on Vimeo.

It seems common knowledge that it's a fake: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=An+Early+Warning+Cartoon
The poor quality would help hide many giveaways and issues they may have had compiling the elements.
Thanks for the update.

Good post!!
This shit is crazy, but look up the Latin root-origin for the word “influenza”... “to influence”. We all know corona means “crown”
in·flu·en·za /ˌinfləˈwenzə/ Origin mid 18th century: from Italian, literally ‘influence’, from medieval Latin influentia (see influence). The Italian word also has the sense ‘an outbreak of an epidemic’, hence ‘epidemic’. It was applied specifically to an influenza epidemic which began in Italy in 1743, later adopted in English as the name of the disease.
