First, Summit.news skews data to fit the far-right propaganda agenda, to brainwash the 99% into thinking they should believe nonsense instead of facts and science, and thus continue to glean them for all their worth. It should be in the list of /s/ShitpostNews

Second, Marty is editor of medpagetoday.com, and responsible for clickbait like this, which helps with his financial bottom line. He's not a virologist, doesn't know how "herd immunity" might or might not work in complex global groups, and is disgrace to JHU's Gastrointestinal Surgery unit, where he's not really engaged.

Third, there is no mention here of the variants of COVID19 that are spreading globally, and are increasingly resistant to the usual greatments and to other forms of immunity. The Indian variant - for example - spreads much more rapidly. Essentially: the more people get COVID19, the more they help it spread and mutate (as happened in India; and not there are outbreaks of this variant in the UK). Herd immunity is a myth. Yes, there will be some who are more resistent, but there will also be substantial portions of populations spreading the mutating virus, and infecting others and killing many. It's not so complicated a problem to address, with masks, vaccines, distancing, testing, and quarantine. That's the only way to "flatten the curve" of outbreaks, which will continue for years.
