Kroger fucking sucks without all this shit happening.

They are completely mismanaged from top to bottom. Starting with the vaccination fiasco. Their order point system is a joke and has been since way before the PAnDeMiC. They repeatedly reduce the facings of top selling items and increase the facings of the the more expensive shit, which no doubt have higher margins.
