Neat, I'm gonna have to read up on this to understand what the hell they're talking about.

I don't know if you saw what I wrote to u/Hongkongphooey but a UFO engine is what we need to focus on. Chemical rockets aren't nearly good enough. Light speed wouldn't be fast enough to actually get anywhere with a living crew. UFOs do it though, if you assume they're real.

Yes, what little technical aspects I understand suggest the shape is crucial. Someone likely has one/some, already. Have you read the Breakaway Civilization hypothesis? Essentially, the Invention Secrecy Act of 1952 (51?) protects any new ideas from reaching mass commercialism. All that missing money from the DoD/pentagon was shunted into this parallel high-tech break-off group and God knows what they're doing/have done, if this is the case. I've been balls deep into this subject since I was 5 years old and I've perused and read just about everything available, then had my own "consciousness experiences" mucking about with dmt & etc. There is some aspect to consciousness in the operation or control of this "technology" if it exists. Somehow it's like dream manipulation except done while "awake." It gets weird, I won't lie. Creeps some people out and I understand if this annoys/aggravates you. We're basically looking at the situation from another perspective and that's the key to the mystery.

I don't know if you've considered this, but when we invent FTL tech that necessitates the Great Exodus. I don't think the aliens are here for any other reason than they have to be moving all the time in unpredictable paths and this is a better place to be than most others. More interesting than a dead planet. We couldn't stay on a planet or even a ship with a predicable path when there are FTL weapons. We'd be sitting ducks.

Perhaps that's why Admiral Wilson and others like him were stonewalled. Once the cat is out of the bag there's no going back.

I'm glad we're of the same mind here. I was pretty roundly mocked last time I brought this up and it's demoralizing. Good to know someone else sees it too.

Nothing but encouragement from me, I've been there putting up with that shit for 30 years...and look, it appears to have all been worth it as there is something to it all. This subject SHOULD be the solution to our current predicament. No hate, no anger, no war, no sadness. Exploration, discovery, camaraderie...after removal of those preventing us from our destinies.

It solves some major problems, but you know we always turn everything into a weapon. If you can get a weapon anywhere instantly with FTL, the only solution is not to be there.

That's always been a big pet peeve I've had with sci-fi series, they use bomb pumped lasers, rail guns, missiles, ... fighter craft! The FTL capable fighter craft especially, it's ridiculous they're used in these books as weapon platforms for inferior weapons when the fighter itself is the best potential weapon.
