Are people saying it is? I've been to Turkey and a few Arab countries, and there's not much similarity, especially the language. Religion is about the only similarity.

No, Turkey is not an Arab country, but it is a majority Muslim country in the Middle East, and I think that is where the confusion is as far as Americans go. I watch basketball, so I know Turks like Enes Kanter and Hedo Turkoglu are not Arabs
