Top comment, this bit:

The judge is calling the FL administration to actually show their evidence rather than fear mongering. Pointing at the solid line of supported evidence and medical backing means they need to make this about the science and healthcare and not personal feels and fears.

Oh, you mean like how the trannies and their jannies make it all about feels, fears, and fear mongering? Hmm, does "stopping child transitions will make them commit suicide instead" sound at all familiar there, fucknuts? Or maybe equating transition bans with genocide?

Ok lets say for arguments sake that there really was this "inner gender identity"there's still no way for human beings to change their biological sex, and cutting off healthy organs because there's something mentally wrong with you still makes you the insane one.Even if the 97% trans are happy stat was real, the only thing it proves to me is that these people are delusional for believing that the gapping hole is anything like a real vagina or the rot dog a transman gets is anything like a biological penis.

I believe entirely it's a mental illness. I'm not entirely convinced of the efficacy of treatment here but there does seem to be evidence that for at least some people, it improves their psychological state. Again I'm not entirely convinced of this but I'm not going to complain if we go back to the substantial psychological vetting process to weed out anyone who might regret it and restrict it to competent adults. Thing is I think adults do need to be free to make their own choices in life.

As far as kids are concerned I think there needs to actually be a material identifier that is confirmed by an objective metric before we even consider the possibility. As it stands now the criteria for deciding whether someone is trans or not is entirely based on self reporting and I don't think it makes much sense to consider self reporting as a qualifying metric for a minor to make a permanent life altering decision. I'm far less concerned with the "social transitions" again extremely skeptical but those do fall into the realm of self expression. Can't really ban them. Medical interventions do need to be heavily restricted though.

I think for medical interventions to even be considered a number of barriers need to be put it place. One they need to completely do away with keeping transitions secret from the parents. If letting the parents know is a danger to the child then they need to actually remove the child from the parents. It's bullshit to do that and keeping important medical and psychological information from the parents needs to be banned outright.

Second any sort of minor going through with any medical gender intervention needs to have the permission of both parents, and I think at least two different doctors, and frankly a judge as well. It shouldn't be something that any one person can just decide is best for the child there's too many problems that can creep up into the process from spiteful divorced to profit mad doctors to activist parents or parents who deeply despise the fact their child isn't the gender they wanted. There need to be completely independent appraisals of the situation happening from competent unrelated adults with nothing to gain or lose from the decision.

There need to be completely independent appraisals of the situation happening from competent unrelated adults with nothing to gain or lose from the decision.

But that's also a problem- quite frankly, the issue has become such a hot-button tribalized issue that literally EVERY person in the world has an ulterior motive to it. It's a line in the sand moment. The doctors are all profit mad and equally "I refuse, then my career is over", the judge is "if I vote yes on this person, I can kiss Republican votes goodbye...but if I vote no on this person, I can kiss Democrat votes goodbye", and even unrelated adults have their political views to say no it.
