If anything stores like Target attract demographics which are strapped for cash. Its also not a strict right/left divide. I'd wager there's a lot of people on both sides of the political spectrum who aren't in to tucking onesies.
But on the opposite side, Target has always been positioned as slightly classier than Walmart. Where Walmart attracts all the demographics that are strapped for cash, there's always been that image that Walmart is the "trashy" store, Target is the "upper-lower-middleclass" one.
(This ties to why Target would skew to the woke side; there's more poor people who think they're so fucking special and have the attitude of the bourgoisie with the bank account of the proletariat who skew woke.)
