That’s not quite what I meant, I don’t expect MS to be afraid of a boycott. I think the BudLight and Target boycotts will convince c-suites, including Microsoft, that there’s little to gain from going down the woke route.

Presently these corporations see the woke stuff from the perspective of ESG nonsense and twitter mobs, both of which have distorted the marketing landscape. ESG is falling out of favour with investors and marketers and ad agencies are waking up to the fact that Twitter and Facebook are not the be all and end all of public opinion.

I predict these companies will move back away from any political positioning, unless it is actually profitable, and I don’t see how Microsoft will sell more Xboxes or Office 365 subscriptions on the back of Diaperfur Trans Puppy Play Drag Awareness Day, or Dove using naked hideous beasts to sell soap.

I hope you're right, and sooner than later. Sadly everywhere I look I still see companies doubling down on woke bullshit and I haven't seen any really definitive signals to indicate it's slowing down. Here we are in June and the rainbows are out in full force again.

tbh a lot of people are noticing the LACK of gratuitous Pride everything this year (and about as many saying "this is literally what we asked for for years, NOT putting rainbow vomit on everything")
