I've said before that a lot, maybe all, of modern Identity Politics is just a rebranded, 21st century comeback of the White Man's Burden ideology from the previous centuries. The core tenets--minorities are incapable of functioning on their own and minorities need the efforts of their white betters to help them advance in society--are damned near identical.

The only notable difference between the two is that WMB encourages colonialism and imperialism by civilized white nations among what are today the so-called (and incorrectly called, for that matter) "third world" countries. While IdPol, on the other hand, would rather the poor little dreamseekers come flooding out of their own countries and into white countries to "diversify and strengthen" them.

So this sort of thing is just par for the course.
