Adopting laws that prohibit the classification of people according to sex type except for bona fide medical purposes.

he wants to have his cake and eat it too lol. sorry, bud. when your time comes and it's due to a male-only disease you weren't checked for because you wanted to abolish sex, you should be made to reap what you sowed 💕

He already has a male disease.

Autogynephilia

The irony of it being written from an acutely male perspective. His ideology allows him to indulge his autogynephelia while simply refusing to acknowledge women's needs for specific protections. He talks about reproduction being 'equal' without ever acknowledging that one sex has the responsibility of pregnancy and childbirth.

Is it not the ultimate consequence of the more extreme elements of the feminist movement? Not women wanting a right to vote, or to own property, or most other civil rights, there are many elements of society where it is indeed not necessary to have any discrimination or even awknoledgement of someone's sex. But there seems to have been a long push in the more extreme feminist positions for a kind of post gendered society, going after things like women's career advancement being slowed by the realities of child rearing, going after the statistical disparities between men and women as symptoms of misogyny and patriarchy rather that social realities that manifest as the aggregate of the sexual differences played across an entire society.

I think most people will agree with the ideas that all people should have both free access to society as individuals regardless of their innate biological traits as well as free choice on how they wish to live their lives. But when we confuse the ideas of freedom of self determination with idea that one can simply ignore their biological sex then we go into a fantasy world that isn't congruent with the physical needs of reality.

The underlying reason behind female segregated spaces is ultimately that women are at risk of pregnancy whereas men are not.

Men and women are different. Biologically. We can get into the weeds with it if we want. Most differences are only true on a broad statistical view. But that doesn't mean they aren't real. Just that we shouldn't take the individual as a representative of the whole.

We'd also have very few issues with the autogynophiles and others if they merely kept their sexual proclivities out of the public eye. The main issue we have is one of exhibitionism more than anything else.

I'll admit that I'm coming at this from the perspective of someone who as always known that I wanted to be a stay at home mother for the childhood and honestly, also the early to mid-teen years, of any child or children I'd have. I've always found the 'feminist' push to equalise the workplace in the ways you describe kind of frustrating. A very, very signifiant number of mothers would prefer the opportunity to spend more time with our children rather than at work while paying someone else to care for our children. While the economic reality, largely around housing costs, has made that increasingly impossible for an awful lot of women. (Or if it's what works for the individual family for the father to be the main childcare provider.) It kind of devalues what a lot of women do or at least want to do. While there is also a good argument to be made that it's destabilised the financial security of the average family at the same time.

Yeah I've never really understood those who throw shade at women who choose to follow a more traditional family structures. I thought the whole point was to let women choose what they want to do. I'd assume most anyone would rather stay home and spend time with their kids vs working at a job away from home if that's an option. Granted I'm sure there are some who would prefer career, but the whole point is to let people choose what works best for them no? Why give shade on people who choose to live a way other than you?

I don't disagree, particularly the influence of 'blank slate feminism' , the idea that the only distinctions between males and females are created via socialization. Rothblatt seemed to be exploiting that belief through his characterization of female oppression throughout history as a consequence of 'sex apartheid'. I have many of these such feminists in my family (coming from a very leftists background) and it's really interesting to watch the cognitive dissonance of constantly complaining about sexism whilst denying that sex is real.

I also think that modern feminism has done a disservice to women in pursuing equality of the sexes by conditioning women to desire being more like men.

They are certainly trying, but I'm still fucking my brains out. They will never get me, see! You'll never get me copper, I'm boning on my death bed, you see!

Never heard of it so thanks for the info, I'll check it out, but in all honesty I probably won't make it very far without puking. Then I'll have some more sex, after I brush my teeth.
