It just sounds like an excuse to get out of a homicidal neglect charge to me. If they truly believed they could live off of sunlight they would have also starved to death along with the baby.

Yeah it’s remarkable, it’s not even particularly well done.

That being said there was a fairly large channel on YouTube a few years ago where the guy was advocating downing shots of turpentine everyday and this was long before covid and he wasn’t the only one.
