This is going to end in a massive backlash against transgenderism and drag queens and probably even the regular gays that cast their lot in with them. They will accomplish the opposite of what they want, because they decided to overreach on issues that are not about civil rights. Men in women's sports, penises in women's spaces, and puberty blockers for kids are not winning issues in the long term. People didn't care about drag queens 10 years ago, and even the conservatives were starting to support gay marriage - now things are moving backwards for them because they decided to stir up the hornets nest by really testing the boundaries of tolerance

Yup, this could end up in a night of broken glass.

If you think about it this seems like a massive psyop by old school democrats to roll back progress and work their way back to southern white supremacy

I think it will simply go out of fashion at some point. Then there will just be loads of people in their 20s and 30s mutilated and castrated realising it was all for nothing. Much like you have a group of people at the moment with stretched ears and huge tattoos they are getting because they thought their emo stage would last forever.

I have an ex-girlfriend that got a Taz tattoo in the early 90s…still makes me laugh to this day 30+ years later.

Woke has all of the features of a religion. It won't die so easily.

It’ll be the shit that they’ve done to teenage girls that brings this whole house of cards down. No one cared when it was just a few little boys being transed, they made TV shows about that shit, but they’ve started chopping healthy breasts off teenage girls and that won’t stand.

As soon as those girls start hitting their thirties when their friends are all popping out babies there’s going to be hell to pay and it’ll make #MeToo and the Catholic Church abuse scandal look like picnics as the accusations fly. The blame will land in all the wrong places as the real rats scurry away.

It will not be the joyous occasion that some people think it will, largely because I don’t think they will be able to point the finger at the groups truly responsible as they’re protected groups so it will somehow be blamed on acceptable target groups.

And whilst that’s going on the MAPs will be walking in pride parades with the incestuous marriage crowd and the zoophiles and a group will be campaigning for necrosexual rights.

The blame will land in all the wrong places as the real rats scurry away.

But this is why your answer likely won't do anything, due to the large Venn diagram of snarts and communists.

The blame WILL land in all the wrong places: The rich doctors, the rich medical companies that made HRT/puberty blockers, the not-rich-but-have a nest egg they'll have to sign away to their kid parents who signed off on it because the kid told them they'd self-delete if they didn't and they were so terrified of burying their baby they'd cave...all the people who'd be found financially liable for it.

And the real rats will cackle with delight because they'd see "ha ha money vacuum go brrrr". If anything, this result will make them MORE emboldened to keep going because now they'll have "if you regret it later on, just sue your doctor, you'll get paid, and we'll redistribute the wealth!" to play with in their grooming tactics.

I've been following this since the early 2000s and from my perspective the pendulum is starting the back swing. Most of the pushback used to come from the religious right just making arguments about morality and God etc .. the TRAs successfully pinned their "rights" to that of gays, feminism, and racial justice for a long time now. Most of their arguments were obscure academic concepts which has little to no impact on anyone. Most of the religious right arguments were just boiling down to them calling gender ambiguity gross and immoral and icky.

People like me who were just gender critical got ignored for the most part. We said the trans ideology is extremely toxic and regressive. They are never happy just existing. The entire premise of their identity relies on forcing others to recognize them as a certain thing. They must be "validated" to exist. Normies didn't care because they thought it didn't impact them. Then their ideology stuck it's foot in the door and started pushing child transition because the idea of trans kids existing validates the trans adults and implies a narrative of science. Problem is they started transing kids that didn't really want it and also created this trans social contagion phenomenon which replaced the bulimia social contagion. Suddenly this is affecting people's kids and the public is not going to be happy about that.

To me the ratcheting back is pretty obvious. The thing I'm nervous about is the Republicans in the US overstepping with religious arguments and causing the pendulum to push back the other way.

Mostly agree. The religious essentialist wing of the Republican party is still a major fundraising source but they're much weaker than they used to be so I doubt we will see a repeat of the early 2000's version of it anytime soon. Though I do think the trans issue will go into the general culture war playbook and end up getting pulled out like abortion from time to time when they need a good wedge issue to promote partisan loyalty towards otherwise undesirable candidates.

Up until recently, I was hopeful that it would fizzle out and become untrendy. Everything about trans ideology is just so morally and ethically wrong I have an increasingly difficult time understanding why anyone except the most unhinged and degenerate support it.

However, it has become clear to me that this is a group of unwell, honest-to-goodness, radicalized people who are continuously egged on by social media and the MSM, declaring that there is an actual genocide; who are carrying trans flags stickers on assault weapons, flaunting signs calling for the murder of women who disagree with them, happily commiting violence to silence dissenting voices while screeching "fascist" at them, and waving flags with Lenin's face (see the Let Women Speak event in Belfast). There is no reasoning with them, as they have abandoned all logic and critical thought and are caught up in the fervor of their religious awakening. They deeply believe they are on the right side of history and must follow that to it's logical conclusion at all costs.

I no longer believe they can be dismissed out of hand as a simple youth contagion - less has brought down governments and ushered in bloody cultural revolutions. They have coupled themselves with any and all ideologies and movements they view as opposing Western Capitalism, with Antifa, who have a very large number of trans-identifying individuals among their ranks, and who I definitely consider having the potential to cause major issues and who are currently being all-but-embraced by the Democrats.

I see this as a far more dangerous movement than I did initially. They have captured corporations, colleges, one side of our two-party system. The consequences of them getting their way are very, very bad.

The backlash is building, but I don't know where it will end up. I do see a lot more people, without nuance, speaking about the dangers of gay marriage, that this is what happens, and how the end result of queer theory is the legalization of pedophilia (which, well they're not wrong).

It's just going to get crazier and crazier I think. Culture is too variegated and split for there to be some massive "wave" of change like people here sometimes imagine. The truth is that a small portion of people in society are always going to be fucking nuts and they just keep hitting Prestige and leveling up as society progresses. Twenty years down the road there will be new and even weirder shit and it'll make trans seem tame.

[–]xoenix 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

I think it could evolve into full-blown transhumanism in states like California, as they experiment with more and more extreme mad science for profit. It's also going to be near impossible for all those rich liberals to walk back everything they've posted on social media and endorsed in their movies and shows. Other states might reject it entirely.

I really don't know if countries like Canada or NZ can turn things around.

I hope for a global realization of wrongdoing, but I'm not betting on it.

So long as John Oliver and Jon Stewart are ducking haunted by their pro-trans rants, I hope they’re posted everywhere they try to appear. Same goes for every other single celebrity that encouraged or excused this shit, used their fame to signal boost this shit for clout. A pox on them all, but especially John Oliver for acting in such a smug, arrogant and self-assured fashion whilst signaling his virtue.

If NZ manages to pull its head out of the sand, it will be because of sports. Government, media and academic institutions are all rigidly pro-gender ideology, but the country loves its sport and when people start seeing their female athletes losing to men it will become something they can't ignore.

Civil War II: battle royale mode.

As intersectionality gets more and more important, and more and more people fighting for it are told they're special continues, inevitably those will lead to "true intersectionality is the individual", leading to "As the individual, I am both the most special human being to ever exist AND the single most oppressed human being to ever exist", which will lead to "every other human on the planet is oppressing me by existing and I am justified to do whatever I want to whoever I want."

Once that happens, the battle begins and it'll be every human fighting every other human to the last one standing- and they'll attack the mirror.

Well, given that these people are not capable of governing their own behavior, it’s either gonna end in legal kid fucking or the entire LBGT community getting pushed back into the closet, with the door welded shut this time. There is no middle ground, because their actions will force people to choose sides.

There is definitely a backlash growing. Look how quickly AB pivoted after the tranny beer can fiasco. The question is will the backlash build to a crescendo organically or will it be kick started by outside factors.

By that, I mean: Troons have no “real” power. They have backers in media and government who act as their muscle. Which means they are also the easiest group to throw to the wolves if needed. I could see some kind of event, such as severe economic downturn, another war etc causing the powers that be to look for a distraction.

People are already disgusted by troons. Take away their artificial power and protections and it will be open season on them.

I don't think there's enough general understanding that the sheer degeneracy of the Weimar Republic, including "sex changes" and uncurbed homosexual behavior and prostitution, contributed to the rise of the Nazis. We have been taught that the Nazis happened for no reason whatsoever other than white people are evil. These leftist children and their pedo overlords cannot continually careen towards the horrors of pedophilia and child mutilation without expecting massive pushback at some point, but they firmly believe they "are on the right side of history" so of course they're going to win. To them, history is in the past and they have no concept at all that things they don't agree with are possible in the future, and I'm not talking about Republicans taking primaries or what have you. I'm talking about major things like civil wars and countries splitting apart.

I predict after the hype wears off, you'll see an uptick in post op suicides, which stands to reason considering what happened to the kids John Money experimented on.

I believe this gender madness was enabled and amplified by the rise of social media, where as a side-effect of it's main function of connecting people, has inadvertently ushered in an era where the lunatic fringes of society now have a voice, an audience, and a power over politics and culture they've never had before. And they are not going to give it up easily.

Hence I fear it's not going away anytime soon, and when it eventually does it's just going to be replaced by more insanity, more clown world. This shit will either never end or it will end very badly for everyone.

I think that social media's influence on the older population has already waned. As younger generations age out and start to adapt to its negatives, it will be seen as a phase and we'll be able to more easily isolate the lunatic fringe. It was a bomb thrown into society for sure, but society will adapt.

I see it going one of two ways:

Scenario 1, AKA the good ending: People finally realize this shit is horrific and the perpetrators are in it for money and/or because they are pedophiles. Said perpetrators are finally ousted from their long-held seats of power and the long process of undoing or healing the damage already inflicted begins.

Scenario 2, AKA the unfortunately likely ending: The people are too distracted by bread and circuses and socially bullied into accepting these travesties, and society continues downhill for some unspecified period of time. Ending 1 may come about far later, but by that time irreparable damage to humanity as a species has already been done.

The international trend is removing minors from the equation, both from indoctrination and medicalization. Once kids aren't on the menu anymore the TRAs will lose their appetite and this nonsense will fade into the background again.

Technology is marching forward not only in the social media and 'gender transitioning' spheres, but on all fronts. It's now possible for people to concoct weapons at home that were only in the grasp of governments a few decades ago. If the time comes that someone snaps, it's no longer in the realm of science fiction that they might cook up a chemical or biological weapon and release it on a crowd at a gay pride march or political conference.

[–]bzzrak 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Long term I think it's gonna end up like lobotomies in the 50s or radioactive medicine in the 1900s. I believe every period in society has some weird detrimental belief of its own, and this is our time's. Sooner or later people will realise how retarded it all is and cast away the whole ideology as it should be.

maybe I'm a bit too optimistic?

[–]UncleWillard56 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You wanna cut your dick or tits off and be called by a certain name? Fine by me. That's it, though - an individual choice to treat whatever mental illness you think you have. After that, stfu. Don't tell me what language to use or try to deny biological facts. I would like to think the majority of trans people are just trying to live their lives and a small group of rabid activists are pushing this ludicrous agenda.

Where is it going? The other alphabet people are already trying to distance themselves from the Ts. I think once they do, it'll change the landscape dramatically. Add to that, I don't expect a blue president in 2024. Maybe some diaspora to blue states (and a corresponding move of people to red states)?
