I think the correct interpretation is to realize that all governments are wrong here. They need to fuck off and let people sort it out, which would happen if other governments weren't so busy trying to censor everyone's speech on the matter.

This president is probably reacting to the shit that is happening in the West and trying to prevent it there, but I think if they don't censor then society should self-regulate (and if it doesn't then you have bigger problems).
