Your point? How about we don't allow freaks from any cults to be close to kids? Both conservative and progressive.

20 years after Spotlight revealed the horrific abuse at the hands of clergy in the Catholic Church, it's now come to light that hundreds, possibly thousands, of children were systematically raped by preachers, youth pastors, and church elders in the Southern Baptist church and it was all covered up by church leaders.

The people who are trying to divert attention away from this scandal are running interference for these child molesters. Drag queen story hour at the library is the diversion.

And why do god-fearing Christians take their kids to Hooters for hot wings? The tits on the wait staff are practically falling out of their wife-beater t-shirts. It's pornographic.

So, spare me the concern about drag queen story hour at the library, when preachers are fingering children behind the pulpit.

Again. I don't want both to be near kids.

People like you yell "stop religious indoctrination!". To which I respond YES. But don't replace it with LGTVHDR indoctrination. To which people like you respond with going defensive and saying it's not the same. Fuck that. Fuck both conservative and liberal freaks and perverts.

Pedophiles flock to church positions of leadership because it gives them access to people's kids in a position that is trusted.

Same as the boy scouts.

Same as the Catholics.

Same as teaching positions.

It's pretty normal. Horrible, but normal.

Southern Baptist convention is quite decentralized so this is just the standard of pedophiles hiding behind positions of authority to avoid reproach and abusing their position.

I've got my own bone with the baptists religiously but that's mostly because I think their stubborn refusal to follow church traditions leaves them vulnerable to every grifter imaginable.

The actual Baptists are usually nice enough people. Much like Mormons, nice, naive and clearly socially anxious about every little thing damning them to hell, but hey that makes them reasonable enough neighbors usually.

Paedophiles will go to extraordinary length to get trusted access to children, and they have always done it. What’s changed is that beginning in the late 90s we started to take child protection seriously and as a result the numbers of nonces caught has gone way up. Next, organisations like the Catholic Church lost a lot of their influence and power, not just at the national level but also within families - gone are the days where the child reporting a priest touching them would be told to go to confession (with that priest) and confess to telling lies.

So, in the third decade of the 21st century we have finally become both aware that abuse does happen and reports of it need careful investigation, we also know that institutions were adept at hiding abuse to save face and/or promote community cohesion/fear of being called racist (Pakistani grooming gangs scandal) and we have developed robust child protection measures that when done properly actually keep children safe.

And then the LGBT crowd try to undermine it all by promoting sexually explicit, age inappropriate sex education, expose children to their fetishes and generally acting like entitled spoilt brats, who having been given everything they fucking wanted just want more.

Since 1998? US public schools matched that in 2022 alone.

Is that supposed to be your version of a joke?

Child rape is no laughing matter.

Yes. It should be illegal to send kids to school.

And that is with extreme underreporting due to the vast majority of the rapists being female.
