I'm not sure it's that uncommon. Sites like mumsnet regularly have mothers trying to pull their kids out of this ideology while their husband's tell them they are bigots. And lots of divorced mothers with ex husbands who have gone full TRA. You just don't hear so much from them as mothers are usually (not always but usually) the primary caregiver, so it's somewhat easier for mothers to keep their kids out of this nonsense or extract them from it. It's when the mother is nuts and the dad is trying to protect their kids that it's harder for him, so we hear about it more.

Some of those posts are bizarre, but this one is a gem but not for the reason they think. The claim was talking about how detransitioners were a tiny percentage and of them 80% do it because of pressure from family etc.

A study published in LGBT Health found that 13.1% of currently identified transgender people have detransitioned at some point in their lives, but that 82.5% of those who have detransitioned attribute their decision to at least one external factor such as pressure from family, non-affirming school environments, and increased vulnerability to violence, including sexual assault. The study was authored by researchers at The Fenway Institute and Massachusetts General Hospital (Harvard Medical School) and is believed to be the first rigorous study of the factors that drive transgender and gender diverse people to detransition.

Really sounds like they’re arguing that conversion therapy works.

There's definitely a very dark trend with this sort of thing. I've seen the "nullification" surgeries and the like and it simply begs the question "why"?

The aire of legitamacy the medical field gives this and the fear instilled in the parents by saying you must affirm or your child will kill themselves as a form of emotional terrorism to scare them into submission.

I just see an obscene amount of profit being collected for what afaik appears to be cosmetic surgeries. Cosmetic surgeries coupled with sterilization mind you.

I'm rather interested in the psychological aspects of it though. Are these gay people who have confused themselves for the other gender? Are the women taking "join the patriarchy" a bit too literally? The people who were called furries still exist. But beginning sometime around 2017 they kept changing the definition of a furry to include as many people as possible, so that the roadkill fuckers would look like a tiny minority. Nipples and the bottoms of the feet are for some reason connected to the female orgasm organ (not sure what it's called). Men actually have an equivalent organ, which is the prostate.
