Pedophiles will naturally flock to any position that gives them access to kids and insulation from criticism. Teachers, boy scout leaders, priests, etc.
Eventually someone goes mask off. The other pedophiles realize the jig is up and toss that guy under the bus to save their own skins. Happens over and over again.
