Normally, I don’t like berating people for their looks. But… that is one ugly dude. Why are they so often obsessed with anime and so grotesquely unkempt and greasy?

I've wondered myself. I've noticed how many formerly attractive, seemingly normal men who go down the AGP rabbit hole just completely let themselves go.

I can only assume it's the addiction speaking, and them being completely immersed in a fantasy and probably spending all their waking hours masturbating to sissy hypno porn and otherwise fuelling their addiction.

What's weird to me is that some of them (Council of Geeks Vera Wylde for example) are actually completely self-aware and even brag about it.

Why are they so often obsessed with anime and so grotesquely unkempt and greasy?

For the first part? Escapist fantasy with a built-in porn element. Seriously, anything that isn't plainly for the youngest of children has guaranteed fan service, regardless of what genre it is.

For the second? Their body isn't what they fantasize it to be--whether that's just normal jacked and chadded, or a more deviant desire--so they just stop caring about it. Eventually it gets to a point where, if they do start to put some work in, it still looks fucked up because of the long neglect.

Those are my guesses from here on the sidelines, anyway. YMMV.

I admit, I haven’t gotten into anime beyond the original Pokémon series when I was a high schooler… so I really didn’t know that porn was naked into a lot of it.

I do feel for anyone who has self image and esteem issues. Hell, I don’t even really judge them for whatever tickles their fancy behind their bedroom doors. But what I can’t do, is be okay with people dressing up in sexual roleplay outfits, and expecting the rest of us to play a role in their sexual fantasies. I can’t consent to that, and being told I need to celebrate that behavior or else, only makes me want to avoid people who act like that even more.

These fetishes are all about tunnel vision. Being a big gross bag of grease is fine if they have the uWu skirt and leggings from their favorite anime.

A tweet on the comment said something similar: they don't care about their hair being clean, as long as it's long. You know, like a girl.

This is part of a larger long-term effort by these people to disassociate from their own bodies, so really, is it any surprise they no longer even recognize when they're being disgusting?
