Another one to throw on the "they just want to read stories to kids" pile.

The guy also talked to the kids about phalloplasty and kicked a kid out of the classroom for questioning the sanity of there being 73 genders.

There is zero reason a “drag queen” should be allowed in a school. It’s deliberately provocative and inappropriate. Drag is inherently sexual in nature, and anyone who denies that is a liar. The kind of person who wants to volunteer to go into a school setting dressed in drag should by no means be allowed to do so. Normal people do not wish to do that. A person who does cannot be trusted.

I am down with drag being a performance art. It has a time, a place, an an appropriate audience. None are within the walls of a school. And frankly, I’m so disgusted by the people who encourage this explicit and ridiculous behavior, that it really makes me mistrustful of anyone advocating for it. I’m seriously sick to death of this gender theory loser-speak. More and more, I see it as a way for those who put zero effort into themselves as productive members of society, to seize a tiny morsel of power that they have been wielding expansively and continuously, but that are only allowed to do it because everyone else has been overly indulgent of these overgrown toddlers. But fortunately, I believe that this is starting to swing back. Most of us are not truly intimidated by blue haired shrieking children in clown makeup.

Isn't that like just as bigoted thing to say as there are only two genders? I mean there's an infinite number of gender identities right? So if you say there are 2 or 73 or even ten billion genders you're just invalidating the infinite genders you aren't awknowleding and comitting an infinite amount of genocide.

Yes, I'm just looking around the room I'm in and saying things I see. But I can do whatever I want, and you have to change the English language to suit me. Now excuse me, I'm gonna go fuck this lamp. I love lamp.

By Louisa Clarence-Smith, EDUCATION EDITOR 27 February 2023 • 5:09pm Sex education has been suspended in Isle of Man schools after a drag queen allegedly told 11-year-olds that there are 73 genders.

The Isle of Man government has launched an independent review of its personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) curriculum after parents raised the alarm about the “graphic, disproportionate, indecent presentation” of sexual acts and different gender identities understood to have been taught in lessons.

Parents of pupils at Queen Elizabeth II High School in Peel, on the Isle of Man, have reported that Year 7 pupils were taught by a drag queen who told them there are 73 genders.

When one “upset” child responded and said “there’s only two”, the drag queen allegedly responded “you’ve upset me” and made the pupil leave the class.

Some 11-year-olds at the school were taught about oral and anal sex, while another group learned about sex change operations and were shown how skin graft taken from a girl’s arm could be used on an artificial penis, according to reports.

“A lot of children are just too traumatised to even talk to their parents," Eliza Cox, vice-chairman of Marown Commissioners, told Energy FM Isle of Man. “As a parent, you don’t know what children are being taught.”

She said that one teacher on the island had told her she had to teach a group of boys and girls in Years 7 and 8 how to masturbate. Another teacher was said to be so uncomfortable with the content of the PSHE curriculum that they told pupils: “Please don’t listen to me” while they taught the lesson.

‘Alienating students’ A petition by parents of pupils at Queen Elizabeth II High School has been launched calling for an “immediate investigation into the alleged actions of teachers delivering the age-inappropriate material to children”.

The petition, addressed to the school’s headteacher and signed by more than 500 people, stated: “We consider the attendance of a ‘drag queen’ in class and alienating students clearly confused about the information discussed during this session wholly inappropriate.

“How, who and why was this guest speaker permitted to discuss gender issues to an inappropriate child audience by an inexperienced and untrained adult?”

The Isle of Man government said it would commission an independent review to “gain an independent understanding of what has taken place”.

Julie Edge, minister for education on the island, said the Department of Education, Sport and Culture has “taken the decision to pause all RSE delivery across primary and secondary schools, and will be unable to comment further until the facts have been established”.

The self-governing crown dependency introduced a new PSHE curriculum in September.

Independent review Miriam Cates, the Conservative MP who sits on the House of Commons’ education select committee, has warned that parents in England are also being kept in the dark about age-inappropriate content being taught to children in sex education.

She said: “When parents raise serious safeguarding concerns about inappropriate and sexualising materials being used in sex education lessons in schools, the right response is to pause these lessons whilst the matter can be investigated.

“I applaud the authorities in the Isle of Man for making this decision. But similar - and worse - materials are being used in schools across the UK and the Department for Education has persistently ignored whistleblowers who raise concerns. The UK Government needs to take its lead from the Isle of Man.”

Charlotte Clarke, head of Queen Elizabeth II High School, said: “Having viewed a video which is currently circulating on social media relating to the school’s RSE curriculum and its delivery, we are concerned that there could be a number of inaccuracies with the information being shared.

“Given the concerns being raised, and in order to be open and transparent, we requested an independent review into the situation. As such I am happy to take part in the independent review which is being deployed by the Department of Education, Sport and Culture and would encourage our community to avoid speculation at this time.”

A spokesperson for the Department for Education said: "Schools must make sure all content they use is factual and age-appropriate, and engage with parents so they are aware of what their children are being taught.

“We will write to all schools this term to emphasise the rights of parents to see teaching materials being taught to their children in schools.”

To be clear for those from elsewhere, the Isle of Man is not part of the UK, it has its own government and it’s relationship to the UK is complicated, but Charles III is the head of state.

That being said, sounds like their government has been visited by the Stonewall fairy and has drawn up a disgusting sex education policy as a result.

Wasn’t that because pretty much all the young people used to have to leave to find work in the UK leaving the island essentially stocked with geriatrics (an old friend of mine, now sadly dead, who had a holiday home there used to say it was full of old people, tax cheats and the unemployed). Maybe the post-2008 economy meant more young progressives stayed and have got greater influence.

Never before has it mattered where you live in the US more than now, since 2020.

We get letters from our schools that allow parents to review all Sex Ed material and a choice to opt out if you'd like. When we call the school and ask if gender is a topic, we are told a definitive Absolutley Not!

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 7 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 2 fun -  (16 children)

I still question the wisdom of having sex ed in schools beyond the biology textbook.

I think some parents will absolutely refuse to teach things related to basic hygiene due to cultural hangups and the like. And it's pretty important, for women especially, to understand exactly how everything works so they don't get infections and the like.

Beyond that though it seems utterly baffling to me to get involved in teaching kids how to have relationships at all. Some percentage of the kids are going to be gay as they always have. They're gonna figure that shit out on their own as they always have. Having the adults go on about it is only going to make the bullying worse I think. Bullies are going to latch onto the "wow if I identify as queer I can just get away with all sorts of shit" problem.

[–]SMCAB 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (12 children)

Exactly. I agree.

I'm okay with strictly reproductive system explanations and that's about it. We even get to watch zoom of the exact presentation well before hand and they do it in one day and leave it up to us to talk about it with our children. As it should be.

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

Yeah being 100% transparent and open about it is the best way to go. I think it's fine to talk about how menstruation works. How pregnancy works. Even how STD work. As long as you're keeping it in a very medical context. You don't have to get into the details of the human sexual act beyond that.

I'd argue it's incredibly important to teach how pregnancy and the like works since the biological realities of life are the primary argument against the trans phenomenon now. But there are those parents who are in communities where even mentioning things like menstruation in a very matter of fact way are going to cause problems. And I don't think it's worth causing those problems. Schools seem to want to take an antagonistic relationship with the communities they are in sometimes and I can't fathom how they think that's a good idea. It only results in the massive rise in homeschooling we see now and it further hobbles the public education systems effectiveness.

[–]SMCAB 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Very well said, and it exactly fits my point about geography. Because where I live, it's exactly this. Just a reminder that we all haven't lost it. Hahahaha

[–]Wanderingthehalls 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

When I was a teenager, in the 90s, there was sex education, including biological functions like menstruation, erections and ejaculation during science, in the biology module. The complete course was in the text book, so any parent could read it. There was also a similar course in Home Economics, as home ec has a biology component. Again, this was all in the text book so parents had full access.

And despite being in a girls Catholic School. In my final year, the school had a 2 day seminar on contraception. Going in to full detail about each available kind. The pros and cons and about what things like 95% effective really meant. Including protection from STDs. Though, they should maybe have done it the year before, as one girl was pregnant at the time.

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yes I think such material is reasonable. I will say however there are people who will freak out about it still. When my grandparents were young they pulled my aunt's and uncles out of school because the school was teaching about biological reproduction, in biology class, and not about humans. Animals.

I don't know how that came about. I'm not sure how you go from an agrarian society where things like, let's say horses fucking, is fairly obvious and even children will see it at some point. I think it was a consequence of urbanization moving people away from the natural world. As my grandparents grew up in more urban environments. In my case I grew up in a more rural area, my parents would get really weird and defensive when I asked about, why the dogs were playing piggyback for example, but got enough information just from observing shit in nature I put two and two together.

Feel bad for the kids now growing up in cities removed from the natural world entirely. They're gonna be confused.

[–]LyingSpirit472 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

But that also ties into the problem: You have to get a little into detail of the human sexual act to detail the purely health-based stuff. If you're talking about pregnancy and how it works, you can't exactly say "if two people really love each other, they hold hands and wait for Jesus to send the stork down to put an angel's egg in the woman's tummy and nine months later a baby is born".

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

No you of course go with catholic version.

"If two people really love each other they must get married in the church by someone officially given the power to marry them, then the man inserts the penis into the woman's vagina and ejaculates sperm so it can impregnate the woman's egg, but this must only be done for procreative reasons and never for fun, otherwise it makes Jesus sad and he'll send you to eternal time out"

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

The difference between explaining what shoplifting is and teaching someone how to shoplift.

Shoplifting is when you take stuff from a store without paying for it, hiding stuff in your bag then leaving the store but claiming you intended to pay for it may be seen as shoplifting in some jurisdictions, here are a number of items people shoplift regularly, here are the penalties.

Now kids lets give you some tips on how to shoplift effectively without your parents knowing about it.

[–]Alphix 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

What I mean is, "people" aka woke teachers, can say "well I'm teaching sex ed" by showing pornography. It's easy for them to make that leap. I am well aware of the difference, but wokes may very well refuse to see it.

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Sure. And I can give those teachers some some fun times for calling the cops and getting them arrested for providing pornography to minors. Which should be illegal, just about everywhere.

Fairly horrific case going on in Sweden atm that def points to the need of basic biology being known.

Well points to the courts not being shits about it but still.

Think it's speaks to the law being fucked more than anything. It should not matter if the man stuck his finger in a little bit or a lot, should be in jail, forever. If he gets out and then offends again that was preventable.

Also "At the time the Swedish language lacked a word for the female genitalia that was neither crude, sexualised, stigmatising, overly medical or a euphemism"

What's wrong with teaching the medical term?

[–]Haylstorm 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah like I said it's more on the court not being shits about it. But if they're not going to accept it as a word or they're going to do that then it seems like the precedent will be make sure kids know the proper words so some old judges can't argue the case. Frankly the fact they went to a dictionary when seemingly everyone on the street knows exactly what it means feels...off.

Genuinely horrible case made worse by the court. The man still abused a child. At least in general the court seems to be causing a fair amount of outrage over that call so we'll see where it goes. I feel so bad for that poor girl on multiple levels, what she said should've been enough. We'll see what happens when it goes further but I hope he goes away for a long time.
