Of course he studies it, he's an extremist himself and he needs to pad out his playbook.

And if you ever paid any attention to him over time, you can tell that he's one of those perpetually angry nobodies in real life, the kind who get stepped on when they aren't ignored or dismissed. He jumped in being a hardcore leftist with both feet, partly because he hopes it'll get him favorable attention and partly because he wants a world where people like him finally have the power to punish everyone who ever denied them anything.
