Their very well thought out plan of promoting open degeneracy, the sexualization of children, pretty much saying "who cares" if women or children are sexually assaulted, while likewise promoting a massive influx of a non-Western conservative population is not going to backfire on them at all. No siree.

Some progressive lefties have been very surprised, very surprised, to find out that recent immigrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan and West Africa aren’t socially progressive despite their complexions, and that, shock horror, they harbour quite backward views on LGBT and women’s issues.

Well yes that's because they tend to be very racist. Or rather, not racist, but culturally supremacist, slight difference.

A racist believes that someone's ancestry is their defining trait. There are many on the left of seemingly praise people's ancestry now and celebrate it, and while I'm certainly all for multiculturalism in the sense that we recognize and share in cultural traditions from other places in a general spirit of friendship, positive racism, that is treating people differently because you love them because of the color of their skin, is still a form of racism albeit less ugly than the hate based one.

Admittedly though there are very few racists in the world that are totally fixated on ancestry and skin color. Especially these days. What we have instead is cultural supremacism which is a bit different , people tend to believe that because they are accepting and tolerant of others that the people they are accepting and tolerant of share those same liberal values. Values that I will absolutely say are superior to the kind of social values you see in places like Afghanistan and Pakistan, and I'm totally in favor of allowing immigrants from those places who share those same western values of equality and the like in, but it's foolish to assume that your average Joe from podunk Afghanistan isn't going to bring his own cultural values with him. And this totally blind sides the more rabid culturally supremacist liberals, the pure moralist types if you will, because their own value system is so steeped in their own orthodoxy they can't even imagine people living with values other than their own unless they are truly evil.

And it plays back into the victim and victimized essentialist mindset. The Afghani women and civilians are the victims so therefore must share my mindset, and I don't think they can imagine that perhaps the Afghani women themselves, as individuals raised in that environment, might actually in many ways not have a problem with the arrangement and hold many views we would consider to be regressive.

It's the same issue with the abortion debate, it gets painted as an issue of women vs the patriarchy, but some of the most rabid anti-abortion activists are themselves women. The reality is it's not so clear cut along gender lines where people's positions fall.
