20 years after the repeal of Section 28, the law in the UK prohibiting local councils from “promoting” homosexuality, a petition has attracted more than 180,000 signatures ensuring it will be debated in Westminster by MPs.

This was unthinkable ten years ago…wonder what changed.

It's their own fault, to be honest. They not only let the nutjobs into their movement but also vouched for them, proudly let them represent their community, then did nothing as they brought even crazier people in. Now the TQ part doesn't need them anymore; they have the tech giants, major corporations, left-wing politicians, and an army of spicy straights on their side.

Yeah, they’re pulling back the metaphorical bungee cord as far as they can knowing that when it finally snaps and the backlash begins it’ll hit a bunch of innocent LGBs whilst the “Queers”, Troons and Groomers disappear into the crowd like fucking Keyser Söse.

This is what infuriates me. Gays and lesbians gained support when people realized that they were really just normal people who should be treated with respect and dignity. Then along comes the TRA’s who glommed onto them and do everything fucking imaginable to convince everyone that the whole community is a bunch of obnoxious clowns and depraved freaks. Soooo many good people are getting tarred by the behavior of the troons and groomers.

Not just the TRA. There's plenty of normal people in the gay lesbian bicycle and transportation crowd, they're fine, but we don't see those people we see the crazies, since the A in LGBTQIA+ stands for asshole, or as they like to call themselves, activists.

The smart gays realized that putting forth a public image of being normal people (and many are don't get me wrong) was the best way forward to achieve their goals. However like in any group of "assholes" there's gonna be a bunch of dumb fucks that wanna push the envelope too far and unfortunately they're also the main energy and driving force to develop a movement so once that momentum starts it's gonna go straight on and overshoot it's goal until is careens miserably out of control and the opposition gets free reign to do their version of the same already well driven by their own fuel of assholes just raring to go.

Back in the 90's and the aughts the crazy gays were still out there. Hell Michael Moore did shit where he'd go drive a truck that said "Buggery Mobile" on the side and was bouncing up and down ostensibly with dudes fucking inside, straight into the middle of podunk Kansas to offend the sensibilities of the locals. And while that shit was still on the fringes and not exactly in the mainstream cultural eye the narrative of gays being normal people was what most people thought since that sort of thing was done to counter the crazy bible thumpers and infuriate them, but crazy begets crazy and bad faith arguments and grandstanding pushes a counter response. In Newtonian sense every action begets an equal and opposite reaction, in society a similar dynamic exists.

I've maintained for a very long time, that caution and small steps and going about doing things via the proper legal channels, affecting normal public opinion, and not trying to achieve top down court decisions or legislative bypassing of the popular will, was the proper way to go about implementing gay marriage or any other legal institutions that you wish to establish, because if not a backlash will ferment. And that backlash will be stronger. And if you aren't careful you risk losing all the strides you've made. If you don't properly deal with people's discontent that discontent will grow until it can no longer be contained.

It's not so simple a narrative as everything was fine until the TRA showed up. TRA exist in some form in most every social movement. Terrible Retarded Assholes.

Their very well thought out plan of promoting open degeneracy, the sexualization of children, pretty much saying "who cares" if women or children are sexually assaulted, while likewise promoting a massive influx of a non-Western conservative population is not going to backfire on them at all. Some progressive lefties have been very surprised, very surprised, to find out that recent immigrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan and West Africa aren’t socially progressive despite their complexions, and that, shock horror, they harbour quite backward views on LGBT and women’s issues.

Well yes that's because they tend to be very racist. Or rather, not racist, but culturally supremacist, slight difference.

A racist believes that someone's ancestry is their defining trait. There are many on the left of seemingly praise people's ancestry now and celebrate it, and while I'm certainly all for multiculturalism in the sense that we recognize and share in cultural traditions from other places in a general spirit of friendship, positive racism, that is treating people differently because you love them because of the color of their skin, is still a form of racism albeit less ugly than the hate based one.

Admittedly though there are very few racists in the world that are totally fixated on ancestry and skin color. Especially these days. What we have instead is cultural supremacism which is a bit different , people tend to believe that because they are accepting and tolerant of others that the people they are accepting and tolerant of share those same liberal values. Values that I will absolutely say are superior to the kind of social values you see in places like Afghanistan and Pakistan, and I'm totally in favor of allowing immigrants from those places who share those same western values of equality and the like in, but it's foolish to assume that your average Joe from podunk Afghanistan isn't going to bring his own cultural values with him. And this totally blind sides the more rabid culturally supremacist liberals, the pure moralist types if you will, because their own value system is so steeped in their own orthodoxy they can't even imagine people living with values other than their own unless they are truly evil.

And it plays back into the victim and victimized essentialist mindset. The Afghani women and civilians are the victims so therefore must share my mindset, and I don't think they can imagine that perhaps the Afghani women themselves, as individuals raised in that environment, might actually in many ways not have a problem with the arrangement and hold many views we would consider to be regressive.

It's the same issue with the abortion debate, it gets painted as an issue of women vs the patriarchy, but some of the most rabid anti-abortion activists are themselves women. The reality is it's not so clear cut along gender lines where people's positions fall.

No one had an issue with drag shows/drag queens... until they began involving kids. No one had an issue with trans people... until they began demanding gay men and lesbians date them and attacking those who won't; demanding and forcing themselves into women's sports; openly harrassing and attacking women; demanding everyone just give in to their every whim and fancy and, oh yeah! began involving kids.

Yeah, it’s largely thanks to LGBT lobby groups finding that their gravy train had dried up after the passing of Gay marriage in various countries moving on to trans stuff and whipping up nonsense in order to secure funding.

The pushing the boundaries stuff (drag kids etc) is just Queer Theory in action.
