The name didn’t stop their “racialised” members, past and present, joining and presumably having fun and gaining the skills and habits that organisations like Girl Guides promotes, so what exactly is the problem?

That the name derives from Northern European folklore? Are we actually saying that we will rewrite and erase our folklore and mythologies because some people may or may not be offended by a name that was derived entirely innocently and has been used for decades without complaint?

All the little white girls who wanted to be Brownies, definitely points to it being a slander…twats, twats is a slander, but it’s what these people are.

Fuck this Maoist shit.

The article alludes to brown-skinned people complaining about the name. Maybe some kids got teased here and there. I'm not sure what constitutes a 'barrier' any more, I'm sure it's subjective like the meaning of every other word.
