They're all mimicking each other, just like how they all typed the same way on Tumblr. Although, there are a lot of girls faking Tourette's syndrome at the moment and generally just behaving weirdly for attention.

With how impressionable young people are, if this trend isn't mocked ruthlessly or declared some kind of -ism, then expect to interact with people in person who move like that in the coming years.

It's too broken for that to work. If you mock it ruthlessly, the people doing it are so dedicated to their narrative of being the tragic widdle trooper who's fighting against everyone in the world attacking them they'll only double down on it...and if you declare it ableism like it is, they're good at "rules for thee, not for me."
