It just looked like every other movie to me. It seems like Disney is trying to copy Avatar frankly.

Perhaps I was excited back then because I heard rumors it will be inspired by Wayne Barlowe’s “Expedition” and I watched years ago the mockumentary Alien Planet (2005) which had stunning animations for me at that time. I connected these two and was interesting what they will come up with, but now it really seems they’re more into copying Avatar. And adding queer stuff of course.

Seems incredibly generic to me. Even the queer stuff seems like "guy flirts with boy for five seconds" rather than something that might actually be narratively interesting like, "guy is gay for alien".
