I had no idea this movie even existed, but I don't think dumping a bunch of money into advertising would have helped it. Their executive admitted to having a not-so-secret gay agenda, and people don't want to be preached to. If anything it would have probably hurt the company to draw attention to it after having that come out

People forget that in 2007 - 2008 the script writers in Hollywood went on strike for better pay. Hollywood said "no" and a lot of really talented writers walked. Without good writing you don't get a good movie. Period. The scabs and hacks that took over writing movies gave us a bunch of lackluster remakes, and endless carbon copy superhero movies. Now they use homosexual themes, replace traditional white characters with blacks, basically inject woke crap into their movies and when they fail because the script sucks they can blame all the Nazi chuds for their movie's failure, like they are doing with Strange World, or Bros. We CAN have gay themed movies. Brokeback Mountain was a great film, not because the main characters were gay, but because the story and dialog are great.

So why doesn't anyone ask the question, why exactly do we need to have homosexual characters in a children's cartoon? Sure they don't show the gay character in Strange World taking it up the ass, but remember when people objected to gay marriage they said, "it's not like we are going to teach your kids to be gay in school" and yet here we are with really young children being taught about anal sex in school, and being exposed to gay men stripping at all ages drag shows, with armed thugs enforcing this degeneracy at the door, and gays saying out loud "yes in fact we are coming for your children". The slippery slope is very real.

I've seen trailers for it in the theater but basically nothing besides that. The trailers did not leave me with any desire to see it as it looked like a bland soulless "adventure" move of the "wow look pretty colors" type. No clue the lead was gay, I'd probably have been even less likely to care if I'd known that.

Lack of advertising for this one definitely makes it seem like they're trying to forget it. Recent shakeups at Disney seem to further that impression. Since Disney is still basically in the market of making kids movies and the conservative side of the culture war seems to be back into all out Disney boycott mode I do think that had they marketed this aggressively as gay it would have created a lot of backlash. Light-year got the most attention there cause they marketed the blink and you'll miss it lesbian relationship hard but the movie itself was bland and uninteresting which led to it's failure. Actually before that I think the "Turning Red" movie turned a lot of parents sour, seems they took the lesson that because they mentioned menstruation in passing that was what was offending people, but if you read the outrage threads on it they barely mentioned that and it was the weird sexualization of the tweens along with the moral of the movie seemingly being "I don't have to listen to you anymore mom I'm 13!" that had parents very upset.

Reckon you'll see Disney go back to Princess movies in a year or two.

I don't think Disney will even come back to making those silly Princess movies, they are not as profitable as they used to be in the past, also it seems that Disney don't give a shit about little girls anymore. They rather pander to nerds with their Marvel and Shit Wars movies beacuse they are much more profitable.

Those nerds are deserting Disney, Star Wars is almost dead as an IP and Marvel Phase 4 has flopped.

Lol that's a good news for me xd

I'm so tired of these capeshit movies, way too many of them

[–]ClassroomPast6178 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

That’s kinda like the Wokies though, they don’t like something so they want it changed or gone.

Simple answer to not liking capeshit, is not to watch capeshit.

I already don't watch capeshit, but I cannot avoid it even though i'm trying because nerds NEVER SHUT UP about it on the internet and the real life. That's so fucking annoying, marvel fans are more obsessed than weaboos and furries.

So, what you’re saying is that you’d like a final, umm, answer, a - shall we say - ultimate solution to the Nerd problem?

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Lol Not sure what do you mean....😨

Look, I don't mind nerds existing but they should just be more considerate of other people and remember that not everyone passionately enjoy things they way they do and just down their autism a little bit in the public.

Great, now what am I supposed to do with all these trains and cattle cars? It cost extra to put the Thomas the Tank Engine faces on, y’know!

Idk the budget on those is high and I think they slowly lose their appeal in the mass market. But the princess movies tend to do really well financially and long term.

people don't want to be preached to.

I was going to make a long post about who's doing this, why gays don't buy this shit and how there's this odd disconnect between representation and interest, but this just sums it up. I'm so fucking done being preached at, on just about any woke subject but most of all the useless idea that is representation. Just give me a good earnest movie, b. It's as simple as that.
