I can just imagine the one transman involved skating onto the ice, looking at the other players…

”I think I may have made a terrible mistake”

I've heard that viewership was very low, and estimates say it will drop about 41% at the next event.

Nonbinary is even more ridiculous than woman-face and bearded ladies. Nice haircut xir, here's your alphabet participation trophy! This era is so damn cringe.

Goddamn, so fucking true. You don’t get to claim you’re neither. That’s not a thing. Unless you’re the tiny tiny fraction of people who are intersex (and honestly, I think even they just consider themselves as intersex, not “non binary”), you don’t get to just claim you’re neither a man or a woman. You don’t get to turn your haircut into a new gender.

There isn't any such thing as intersex. There are people with Disorders of Sexual Development, which can cause people to have ambiguous genitalia and/or hormonal profiles which are very unbalanced. But some DSDs affect males and others females. Every single person with a DSD is either male or female, they are not something in between.

And while people with DSDs are not a monolith who all think alike, nearly every spokes group for people with DSDs have issued clear statements that they do not want to be used in the argument about gender identity. They do not want a stupid circle on the flag. They are not some sort of gotcha and to use them very much misgenders them, as even though something went wrong in their development, they are still either men or women. And yet, the same people who claim misgendering is literal violence, keep on misgendering these people for their own gain.

I see no issue here. As long as there's a separate division for women, this seems a good solution.

The issue is that men now have 2 lots of prize money they can win because no female troon is ever going to win in the trans category.

2 lots nothing...a large part of the game of hockey is bodychecking and hitting your opponent really hard. That...will not end well for female snarts.

No this is great. Let them have their own games.

Yes, hockey is for everyone. It doesn't mean that everyone has to watch you play it.

I'd definitely watch a hockey to soccer trans-sports match. It's hockey but it identifies as soccer, use a ball instead of a puck and all the players run around on the rink without scates trying to kick the ball into the goal.

That would be hilarious.

Isn't that the way to do it, though? I mean, instead of allowing trans women to play on women's teams, and all that entails?
