They hate marriage when it’s a straight one (and especially with a religious background) but will praise this concept when referring to their own groups, as if it’s suddenly something brave and stunning.

I mean, religion plays zero into it, but straight marriage legit shouldn't be a thing, because straight relationships as a whole but especially in-person straight relationships shouldn't be a thing. Men and women on average think so differently that it's like deer and dogs trying to cohabitate, both social animals but interact too differently to understand eachother fully, it simply isn't a basis for a lasting or even meaningful relationship, and to make matters worse, humans are sexually dimorphic to the point that the strength gap between strong females and weak males, let alone averages, is so high that mixed-sex intercourse can never be consensual, even if the woman initiates it's still only situationally-coerced assent, which is meaningless in sexual situations.

People have been getting married and living together for the rest of their lives for thousands of years, but because you failed, the whole concept can't work.

Seems legit

I never failed, I deliberately avoid it on philosophical grounds having seen what it did to my parents (made them into a pair of bitter dickweasels), to their married friends (see first entry), and my Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Caroline (ended in a bunch of arguments and a messy divorce that was bad for the kids). Only happy, stable couple I've ever encountered or even heard of, at least in the West (I have had my arguments countered by people from other cultures, so maybe men and women are more similar outside of America, I wouldn't know, I only ever lived in America) is two lesbians who were dating all through high school. Men and women are simply too different to form stable relationships. Like I said before, it's like deer and dogs.
