I saw a Reddit thread trying to defend this tranny like "I'm a girls volleyball coach and getting spikes to the head happens all the time it's nothing new"

Yeah it might be nothing new to male volleyball players but for females this is like getting hit by a fucking mack truck. This is like a man pitching overhand fastballs in a women's softball game. (Which, the way things are going, will probably happen soon enough)

The argument that there’s no difference between men and women in sport isn’t a new one, certain groups have been insisting that it was just training and socialisation that was responsible for differing outcomes/records/etc for decades.

It was just as wrong when those groups made it as it is now.

I swear the people that think that need to do some mixed gender sport for a bit. I remember some casual PE with the guys where we were fucking around playing basketball and someone barely tapped me and it sent me flying. They were so apologetic because they genuinely didn't realise that that would happen. I would not want to play a serious match against them.

It's just weird because it's like have you never play fought with the opposite sex? I know a lot of people have a realisation then when a man pins them and they're just being playful/barely trying and they're actually struggling and getting nowhere. Anyone who thinks it's safe is living on another planet.

On the topic of volleyball, the one time I can remember playing mixed post puberty was playing volleyball during PE. There were uneven teams, so our all boy team got put up against a team of girls for a round. I wasn't even good at volleyball and I was smashing aces in. We barely got any practice out of it, because any time it was our serve there was a solid chance it would either be an ace or they'd wildly redirect our serve.

Yeah there's just such a difference it's unviable if you want to have actual fair competition, not to mention the safety aspect. Men, but especially teenagers often don't know their own strength so that feels like the worst time to let them do mixed sport. There's def a realisation that takes place in most men/teens that do do mixed sports that they need to be 'gentle' or someone gets injured. Which obviously isn't great for them either when they want to actually play a competitive game.

My friend used to play Korfball which is a sport designed to be mixed. Can’t help but think that there was a reason they strictly enforced gender quotas on teams and participation rules meant every player has to hold the ball before a goal was scored.

Quidditch is supposed to, but since their idea of a woman is "whoever identifies as one" (no gatekeeping at all) it ends up with full men's teams playing against mixed teams. Quidditch also has a massive concussion problem, but I'm sure that's just a coincidence

Look at the mess this study into Quidditch injuries is because they refused to be strict with sex definition. They allowed self-reporting of sex, and looking at the mean heights and weight you can instantly see that there’s significant lying going on (the mean height for women is 5’7” in the study but 5’4” in real life…me thinks some dudes slipped in, the mean height for men was 5’10” so I’m guessing that there no or very few transmen) , and it’s hilarious that the mean height for the “prefer not to say” category is both taller and heavier than either male or female.

This is the quality of evidence that the “men and women can play contacts sports safely together” crowd is putting out.

Contrary to the above study women do indeed suffer more concussions in Quidditch than men and should probably think about segregating play by sex.

Just go with non-contact like golf for comparison. There's absolutely no reason why women and men shouldn't play golf together. Even at high competitive play levels, there are no safety concerns.

Why aren't there very many women on the PGA if they are physically the same? Reason why the WPGA exists, women can't drive as far, statistically on average. I'm sure any WPGA can out drive your average schmuck who doesn't play golf but that's like saying that handicapped people don't need ramps because some handicapped body builder can handstand walk up the stairs.

Even if that's the case then what exactly is the point of separating the sports by sex then?If we all get spiked to the head then there's no reason to separate the sexes then.

Men can and do get injured playing sports with other men, that's just part of the territory. If women want to play on a mixed team or even on the men's team , more power to them if they can hold their own. But they're taking on the risk of injury and need to be aware of that.

There really aren't strictly gender segregated sports. Most "men's sports" are technically open divisions where any women who can qualify may play if they wish. Nothing wrong with that. What we do have are handicap leagues, same as we have leagues for people in wheelchairs or leagues for retarded kids, so they can play against other people who have the same disability and the game is fair, so we have lots of leagues for the most common sports handicap of all, being female. And feminists may not like this framing but it's absolutely true, when it comes to sports, physical strength, being female is a handicap. Perhaps like any handicap it can be overcome with great perseverance and dedication and more power to those people, but you've still got it way harder than anyone who doesn't have that handicap. It's unfair for someone who can hear to play on a team for deaf people. It's unfair for a male to play on a team for females.

If a deaf person wants to play on a team for people who can hear and they are capable despite their handicap, more power to them so long as it's reasonably safe and they are aware of the risks. Same for females who want to play with the males. If you can hit home runs like Babe Ruth you'll have your choice of MLB contracts, but realistically, the statistical likelihood of a woman being able to compete at the high level with the top class of men is so small that it might as well be zero.

Depends on the sport. In ultra endurance fields a lot of the records are set by women by incredibly wide margins against the former men's records.

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I'm certain you'll find certain sports where females have an innate statistical advantage. Ultra endurance might be one. Think gymnastics is another one. It's usually when we are talking about raw physical strength where there is a clear male advantage, but for most sports raw physical strength is such an important aspect that if you are lacking at it no amount of skill can close the gap.

Of course gender gaps also pop up in games like chess which is funny. Personally I suspect that men are "smarter" than women as whole in the sense that, they're better at chess, women probably are more sensible than spending inordinate amounts of time to get good at a game that won't benefit them in any way besides simply "to win". So really who is more intelligent?

I suspect women are largely at a disadvantage due to the lack of the penis. Since men do at least half of their thinking with it, it stands to reason that women lack the penile intelligence necessary to understand the complex balance between the male supercomputer of combined powers of penis, stomach and brain working together in glorious discord.

Iirc men tend to be at more extremes of the bell curve for intelligence than women. So you get more geniuses (and also more idiots) whereas women tend to be more in the middle of it. That could explain some of it if there's like 100 men and 100 women and the mens 5 geniuses would outnumber the womens 1.

I don't think women actually do have advantage in gymnastics with the exception of bounce moves, that involve open leg bounces, where the crotch hits the floor and rebounds (I think for obvious reasons). Or certain moves where extreme higher end flexibility is involved. But a lot of gymnastic elements and even entire disciplines, are based off leg and upper body strength, so there are numerous gymnastic elements/fields that males are innately better at. I do gymnastics/acrobatics at an amateur level, so I see it in action all the time.

As for the smartness of spending a lot of time working hard to get good at a 'sport' for no real reason, well it's extremely fucking pleasurable. My mental health has never been better. My mental health has actually pretty much always been fine and I'm someone who finds regular contentment even when everything is shit. But with constant exercise and physical goals I'm nearly always happy. No matter what else is going on, my main emotion is a steady happiness with regular bouts of elation. I'm pretty sure humans are meant to be very physical and in a world where it's easy to be sedentary, sport of some sort is probably essential to most people.

(I also get to see some extreme cognitive dissonance in action as everyone I know in the online gymnastics community agrees that giving young gymnastics girls Lupron to delay their puberty will fuck up their long-term health. While a lot of the same people 'support trans-kids' and campaign against any legislation that might limiting access to Lupron for those kids.)

A North Carolina school district voted last month to forfeit all high school girls' volleyball games against a rival school which rosters a transgender athlete.

The transgender athlete from Highlands High School spiked a ball into the face of a girl from Hiwassee Dam High School who reportedly suffered head and neck injuries - the Cherokee County Board of Education forfeited the contests "due to safety concerns."

A YouTube video was posted on Oct. 1 that appeared to be the athlete's highlight reel - high school athletes often make reels for college recruitment.

David Payne, Hiwassee Dam's athletic director, supported the decision, and Vice Chair Jeff Martin felt that "there is a competitive advantage and a safety concern for certain teams — it’s not the same for all teams."

Payne believed "a statement needed to be made and that it's unfair and unsafe" while also saying there were "mixed feelings" from players and parents about facing Highlands in the future.

Yes but how does this help secure the existence of the gay race and a future for trans babies?

Everytime a girl receives a spiked volleyball in the face, a transbaby gets its future.
