I hope the girl and her family sue the school for this. A nice seven figure settlement should do.

But then again it's just tax payer money, not like the staff/people who allowed something like this to happen would be fell any repercussions.

Even in this article it says the ball was "lobbed" which at least implies it was lightly thrown. OK you don't "lob" a ball at 70mph.
