"Proud of who I am" says the guy with several phony personas between the real world and his fragile psyche 🙄

Remember when pride was an emotion you had for something accomplished through some kind of skill or effort? Those were good times. I miss those times.

I was reading that dopamine is also something you are only supposed to get a kick out of when you work or achieve something. When it's available on demand people get addicted to the source like it's crack. That's what a lot of these troons are chasing with their affirmation cravings.

Pride has always been one of the seven deadly sins. It's one thing entire to be proud for someone else. But self pride is a dangerous emotion. Internal validation can become a curse. And a proud heart is a different sort of thing than to be satisfied with ones accomplishments.

I guess it depends on how broadly you define it. To me pride can mean different things, from thinking you're the greatest person in the world, to just having a few moments of joy because you finished cleaning your room and did a nice job. IMO anyone who thinks the latter is something you need to apologize to God for has a few screws loose.

No, those were better times but still bad times. Pride is wrong.

Why is pride wrong ? Why shodnt you be proud if your achievements?
Let's be honest, it's only in the bible because it's natural, just like lust etc just a way of sham8ng p eople for control. Religion invented the problem and sold the cure.

Lust is bad though. It's not nice if you have a spouse who doesn't want you lusting after others. Both lust and pride are responsible for copious amounts of power abuse and evil.
