Which is the problem. This guy made very little attempt to hide this shit. So either they have to admit they hired him, knowing full well what his views were. Or that they didn't do the slightest bit of research before making him a trustee

This is going to have far reaching consequences beyond Mermaids. He's written for Pink News, he's employed at LSE, Sally Hines of refusing to even be on the same panel as Kathleen Stock fame has chaired panels where he's spoken.

Imagine if it was Pink News and Mermaids that set back gay rights by giving actual ammo to the “gays are all predatory paedos” crowd. The libel that was just starting to die off, gets reinvigorated by these guys, crazy.

If PN were self-aware they would be putting out lots of content throwing both this paedo-apologist and Mermaids under the bus. Wonder if OJ will say anything.

ditto the coverage of Oli London or Ezra Miller--it's sorta glaring how they have to square the circle of "never ever refer to the non-dysphoric, non-transitioning men as him/her" and "scoff at their claims of being Korean/the pasty-white messianic leader of a worldwide Native revolt"

and it's also gonna happen with Lena Dunham once Her Lopsidedness identifies as "I kissed a girl once and I liked it" and therefore a realio trulio LGBT+ figure, so her their nonsense about being coffin-handled at a Pride Parade flips overnight out of the "whitecishets trying to barge into someone else's lane" to "stunning and brave"

There's been a spectacular U-turn from Ben Cohen. He's now claiming whilst he might disagree with LGB Alliance's views, he's never called for them to be shut down. A year ago he announced he was donating to Mermaids' case against them and encouraging others to do the same. By the end of next year he'll probably be claiming to be a founding member

I think a lot of trans are so emotionally desperate they would happily trade kids getting raped to get what they want.

And a lot of them were abused as kids themselves. I think that is a thing, traumatised people trying to make out what happened to them was actually no big deal or even a good thing so they don't have to accept they were a weak, helpless victim at one point.

I think the Pink News crowd are so removed from normal people they really believe that if the "all gays are paedos" thing appeared again they would just be have to scream "homophobia" at everyone to shut it down.

Background checking your trustees is fairly important, even more so for a charity involved with children. So either they did absolutely no due diligence before appointing him, or even worse they did.

There isn’t enough ass covering material in the Western Hemisphere to cover their arses if they knowingly let a paedo-apologist into their board.

Reminds me of Reddit and hiring that Challenor troon as an admin, lol. The mad scramble by the rest of them to protect him and blackhole all criticism (and all accurate background information as well) was utterly hilarious.
