It's insane that either of them got demonised to that extent. Neither are anti trans, they just don't go all the way with the rhetoric. At least to start with.

right, it's purely because they had the gall to point out what their gut was saying to them. that intolerant hypersensitive reaction made people notice. it goes beyond being a protected class or someone going through a hard time and becomes a kind of pathological victimhood. people recognize that even if they don't understand all the arguments, and it pushes them to think about it.

Yeah I mean, I get that but a lot of my friends don't. If all you know is the drama and trannies are offended at x, most people will think x is horrible. I hope people are waking up.

no for sure, but i think intentional ignorance is a big part of that. the best trans allies are the ones who have no opinions of their own and work hard to know basically nothing about it. anyone who actually tries to get informed approaches peaking.

Yeah just a small glimpse dispels a lot of illusions; I guess a sign of this and the next generation is media disillusionment. Also I find the grasp of this particular, uh, interest group? covert ad-campaign? psy-op? to be almost overwhelming in scope. It has fingers in so many pies it's insane. It's in everything. How the fuck is it in everything?

i remain confident they'll fuck it up because they're porn-addicted narcissists who lack self-awareness. eventually the veil has to be lifted; they have to admit to someone it's just a fetish. then we keep receipts.

i have faith in the next generation. they're not as media illiterate as we think.

I do too. But I think they'll have tech related hurdles that we didn't have. I'm glad I grew up without Facebook. It just got started when I was 19.

Agree that it'll probably course-correct because it's just getting more and more obvious that it's porn-brain and various cluster-b disorders, at least in men. The amount of detransitioning girls will probably be the thing that topples it. And I think the lesbians won't take shit much longer.

I got an FTM friend. I'm supportive and lend an ear. But I'm skeptical to her getting surgery; I hope she won't regret it. She's not a young person, so she probably should know what she wants. But that someone seems so excited to amputate their breasts is surreal to me.
