Similar to someone with narcissistic personality disorder, the one and only thing that gives these people oxygen is external validation. It sounds like this is a nice guy who could have been open to having a relationship with this troon. But a normal and healthy relationship was never in the cards. Validation is like a drug for these fucks, and it's never enough. In the near future, society will come to see the Ts & Qs as more closely aligned with cluster-b personality disorders. (narcissistic, anti-social, histrionic, and borderline) than with LGB.

I'm usually skeptical about the whole "trans = narc" equation, but this is the most narcissistic thing I've seen for a long time. They hate themselves so much that the moment you show these people you accept them, they're no longer interested. A relationship is only worth anything to them if you don't want them and they need coercion or lies to get your acceptance—because otherwise, you're a shit person completely beneath their notice.
