It amazes me that the pharma companies made a big push for prep to be available on the NHS, and then there are resurgences of gonorrhoea, syphilis, herpes and now Monkeypox among the gay community. Almost as if telling people they can fuck multiple people without condoms has consequences.

The thing about PrEP that's foremost in my mind, and I really don't understand why nobody is talking about this, is that we can't even have contraceptives--that term encompassing condoms, birth control pills, and IUDs, with vasectomies as an extreme endpoint--with a 100% success rate, and that's a reasonably well-developed field.

But people are treating PrEP like it'll never fail to do what it's supposed to, and they just go barebacking without a care as a result. And all I can think about is what kind of awful horrorshow it'll be if the drug ever fails for some reason (like a resistant strain of HIV popping up).

They found the virus is more prevalent in semen and saliva than on the surface of the skin in a study published in July, meaning that it was far more likely to have been passed about through fluid exchange than simple touching as claimed and had safe sex and a bit of restraint been practiced it would not have spread as much as it has.

It's really high time someone does a classic 4-chan style troll on these sorts of people. The "it's ok to be white" campaign was massively hilarious. I'm thinking something like adding the French Pride flag and just having it be solid white. Super straight had potential but unfortunately it got squashed on social media so I think you've got to slide this stuff in IRL under the radar and just wait for the inevitable blow up. Or perhaps a good old fashioned phone prank is in order. Maybe a pronoun assistance hotline where you put people through a rediculous circumlocution auto phone operator that never goes through to a real person.

I was actually just a bit impressed by the speed and vigor with which the genderspecials and their cheerleaders stomped that one out. Considering how quickly they pulled out the Nazi association (because of the SS), how quickly and coherently--compared to their usual "reeeeeeeeee" streams of noise--they shouted down any arguments or support, and how on-target the counter-campaign was, I honestly believe it was organized and managed behind the scenes.

I've seriously considered pushing the envelope on the pronoun shit a few times to see how much "you must respect someone else's pronouns no matter what" rings true. (Spoilers it doesn't, there rules are arbitrarily defined).

Obviously going with "nigger" and "niggerself" is one of the more hilarious ones but you can really only pull that off it you are black without being accused of trolling outright.

But if you play the gag straight, you might be able to get by with pronouns like "hubundersmithenswithershinepodinkarcopolisolios" and "hubundersmithenswithershinepodinkarcopolisolion"

Since the pronouns are a reflection of how I feel about my self spiritually and have meaning only to me refusing to use them in full is deeply hurtful. Abbreviation is sanguine amputation!

If I’m ever asked to do the whole pronoun thing, it hasn’t happened yet, I will list I/Me/Mine with a totally straight face. I didn’t come up with that, I’ve forgotten where I first saw it suggested but it strikes me as a troll you can do with very low chance of being called out on it - and it makes conversation about me completely impossible thereby breaking brains as a bonus.

Honestly, even if it's trolling, it's still something to use because quite frankly, they'd still be caught. Even if you're outright trolling, you have to use that set of pronouns or else you're transphobic, but if you use them you're using a slur and are -ist or -phobic. Either way, they lose. Even if you can't use that one, there's bound to be a slur for your own group to use for it.

I have no doubt they listed it as hate speech/symbols despite knowing it was a troll, I believe they now have milk listed as a hate symbol for the same reason. Those two organisations exist solely to grift and they can only grift if they keep up the impression that there’s been no change in the treatment of minorities since the 1950s. SPLC is especially shitty, they listed Maajid Nawaz as an islamophobic hate figure until he threatened to sue them for libel, at which point they ran for the hills.
