2yo daughter but he’s been a stay at home spouse for 10 years… he just sounds like a leech…

Yeah I must say if the house husband is forgoing career to raise the kids while the wife is out making ends meet, that seems perfectly reasonable. But sitting around at home for 8 years before kids? Definitely something that seems parasitic.

I do think there are some exceptions. Like being an unpaid full time carer to a relative, but that's a job. Unpaid but you're still working. Not doing anything though for that long is where the problem is.
