I feel bad that someone committed suicide, but the answer to his issues was not to pretend he was a woman. I wish he would've gotten the REAL help he needed, not the flowery lies people get nowadays.

I saw a screenshot from a Reddit thread ran through Reveddit today (allowing you to see deleted comments and whether they were deleted by the commenter or a mod). The thread was an obvious male, posting a picture asking when he should tell his date he's trans. The deleted comments (something like 18 out of 90, so about a fifth of the thread) were all deleted by the mod and all said some variation of "You probably won't have to tell him, if he has eyes". Building up that kind of echo chamber is unhealthy.

Yeah the thread was real weird in the case of this trans that killed himself. All the downvoted comments were like "omg mental health problems are so common in the trans community. They really need our support". It was like they couldn't handle the mere mention of associating mental health with being trans

That's like saying wetness is common in the goldfish community

somewhere under all the fake concern is the deepest kind of disgust at people. the kind that makes them encourage the worst behaviors just to see the disaster it leads to.
