I find it funny how the same group of people who claim to want “strong female representation” appropriate ACTUAL strong female characters/historical figure for the sake of identity politics

It’s no surprise, they hate women who think on their own.

I heard it’s also because the actress uses they/them pronouns - so, acting is not anymore a thing? Everything must be according to who someone tries to be in real life?

Apparently the writer is a transman as well.

The whole thing is just a gusset fumbling circle jerk.

Oh shit. Joan of Arc didn’t deserve it.

It's always the way. Strong powerful woman? "She's actually a man" is one I've heard a lot too. Especially with Joan of Arc. The evidence being she dressed as a man. Like mate she did that so she could actually DO things. Not because of your identity nonsense.

James Barry is another one they like to posthumously trans.

It's just frustrating. When a woman achieved something in a time where that was basically impossible and they just dismiss all that with the "but she was a man" logic.

Yeah for people who complain about "the patriarchy" they certainly seem to be blind as to why a woman would adopt cultural signifiers of a man in a society where women are literally seen as property.

And they don’t even see the irony.
