DISCUSSIONThe great, big “Link the attack on Salman Rushdie to something other than Islam, and tell us why it’s really a good thing” game.

Honestly all the stories I've read have been pretty up front about who wanted to kill him. Do you have an examples where they're trying to pretend it's something else?

Um, that's gonna be a yikes from me, sweaty. Islam is the religion of peace, it has never caused a death except people who deserved it, it's the religion of black BiPOCs- especially fat black mentally and physically disabled (both self-dxed) trans lesbian Dream stans, and most importantly Mommy and Daddy were traumatized by 9/11 so saying I support terrorists is the only way I can make them hurt- so really, Rushdie was the villain here. If anything, I'd assume that Rushdie (who's from London, so you know, cishet male who's English and thus was colonized so much he's white-adjacent) hired a white male Christian incel to cause the attack because he knew it'd demonize Islam, and with it fat black mentally and physically disabled (both self-dxed) trans lesbian Dream stans who have multiple kins and can prove they don't kinshare.

You hit almost all the required points, but for a maximum score you would have had to tell us why the attack was ackchully a good thing.
The judges give it, 9/10. It’s the one to beat.

I've been seeing an awful lot of "I'm not saying he deserved it, but if he hadn't written the Satanic Verses this wouldn't have happened" takes from the expected crowd.

“I’m not saying the BIPOC victim of colonialism atheist ex-Muslim deserved to be stabbed, but if he had just kept his dirty apostate mouth shut…” - the progressive take.
Have you noticed that the BBC cannot bring itself to refer to Rushdie as Sir Salman or call him British, despite him being British since birth. They keep calling him Mr Rushdie and “Indian-born”. Despite Rushdie expressing great pride in receiving his knighthood.
