This is r/that happened karma farming for almost sure.

The odds that the sister "doesn't care" most of the time, other than for a niece she rarely sees dressing up as a nephew for her wedding day? Yeah right. The kids aren't even in the wedding, and the odds that a "usually whatever" person suddenly cares about what name a table at a wedding has and whether a guest is wearing a suit or a dress? Not terribly likely tbh.

Oh and it's a poor single father of three who lost the wife when the kids were toddlers, in case you didn't know who to feel sorry for? Oh and ALSO this karen is 38 which is a little old to get married because we totally need to know that she's a middle aged woman so you can feel guilt free in hating her for a one sided story.

And the entire wedding guest list clapped for alberta einstein on the way out.

I've been IN and helped with so many weddings at this point it's a rare day in hell the bridge or groom has any ability/attention span/patience left to deal with anything that ISN'T dead central to the event, much less if it's a "formal and well organized" wedding as this one is.

more likely - sister gave no fucks and put the other name on the card not really thinking about it without half this drama and dad decided to make a scene and she was like whatever then go.

At this point, I assume everything in AITA is made up for karma farming and/or outrage bait.

Single fathers are a tiny minority but they always appear in reddit stories.

Maybe they should be banned if they cause so much trouble.

I bet a lot of these Reddit single fathers aren't really single fathers. Do single dads even have time to go on Reddit and hang out with fedora wearers? I bet that a lot of these "single fathers" are teenage boys who want to imagine themselves as single dads because they've got mommy issues, and maybe daddy issues as well.

Meh I don't think 38 is middle-aged, but that's just my opinion. However, I do think the op is definitely middle-aged. edited to add: My mother knows people that gotten married in their 50's and 60's, so 38 isn't old at all to marry. I think the best decades to marry are in your 20's and 30's.

Idk about middle aged. 45 isn't much older than 38 really. That said, it was more tongue-in-cheek intended than not about how the internet, and reddit, often view that demographic.

Imo you're absolutely right about marriage. but just my opinion.

Well fair enough. I just think like if it was the 70's then maybe I can see 38 being middle aged, but loads of countries have live expectancies in the 80's, so I thought this for a while that I think 40's and 50's is middle aged and 20's and 30's is young adult.

Yep. Squeeze as many marriages as you can during that window of life.

Yeah I don't think it's likely real. If I had some crazy trans relative that wanted to cause scenes at my wedding and make it about them I'd not bother inviting them in the first place. And if they started drama over it I'd just use the drama as evidence my choice was correct.

Oppression Olympics for the win. Who's the bigger victim?

Lmao I went and found the post and every single comment is saying NTA. But there's also a mod comment saying they're sick of cleaning up transphobes. Almost like every single "you're the asshole" comment was jannied because "transphobia". So glad I'm allowed to actually have opinions here

Why am I not surprised? You get banned for a lot of frivolous reasons on Reddit by Troon mods.

All of those ridiculous fucking egobooster Reddit awards...

It feels like I'm missing something, but what are the odds that one of the children of a single father would be trans? Single fathers would the least likely type of parents to accept transgender children. Maybe I'm wrong. But it is extremely rare for fathers to accept trans children without pressure from the mother or from the legal system. The type of men who would accept a trans child tend to not have children or have children with domineering women.

Or maybe OP is a woman who identifies as a man?

Or maybe OP is actually some 18-year-old who doesn't have children but wishes he did to compensate for the fact that his father wasn't in his life.

I've seen queer and nb dads on Twitter and Preddit. I'm not sure if they're lying or not. I'm sure there are liars and larpers all over the place online.

True. A lot of men are woke and terrible. But few of them end up single fathers.

It's probably an AGP/Aiden larping to gain easy karma.

It's so obvious it hurts.

This could all have been avoided by not inviting the child and the child abusing father in the first place. It would be a good lesson to prepare the child for the rest of their life should they continue this way. People don't invite narcissistic liars.

I'm skeptical this actually happened too since he's the father of the bride and traditionally expected to pay for the wedding. You don't shit on an expensive wedding like that if you paid for it.

It's his sister's wedding, not his daughter's.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Ah, that makes more sense.
