I know the whole idea is that you're not supposed to scrutinize people's identities, but I continually try and fail to rationalize the trans phenomenon. Subverting gender norms is great, but now I'm asked to accept that each gender has a distinct "feeling" to it, and that trans people somehow know theirs doesn't match. But surely you'd need to experience both to know whether yours is wrong. And where does the feeling come from? Why don't I feel like my gender, if it's supposedly such an intimate part of who you are? I just feel like a person.
There are just too many unanswered questions and contradictions for me to respect the ideology very much. But I keep those thoughts to myself.
