I'm not sure they're necessarily either, there's the third option, which is just hopelessly deluded. In recent years it seems certain people have taken "gender is a performative role" to heart and completely separated it from aesthetics. It's not about looking feminine as much as it's about "acting" feminine. So in this case he'd be performing the role of a woman perfectly, by wearing a skirt and blouse, even though he's obviously a fucking man.

Unfortunately this is the norm on the kinder places on social media.

I remember a guy posted a pic of himself on one of the main make-up subs on reddit. He said he was doing it for his sissy fetish, not even because he was trans, and he got nothing but this kind of fake patronising praise from the woman.

Social transition is simply changing your name to a woman’s name and wearing women’s clothes (badly), as opposed to medical transition which involves taking hormones and surgical transition which involves chopping bits off or repurposing bits.

I mean as a first step it makes sense. I'd rather people test it out and realise it's not for them at this stage than you know, after surgery or hormones. It does seem to get all of the creeps though...
