Making people look is is the whole point.

They are just playing the part of a normal person when actually they are desperate for that attention.

When you don't react then they will start crying about that.

I have given this demand the careful and measured consideration that it deserves, and have arrived upon only possible answer.

NO!

Also, nice to see otherkin insanity making a return to TiA. Too bad it couldn't happen on the OG sub, but those fucking ratfems had a stranglehold on the sub and used it to push their favorite issue almost without exception.

Was sort of waiting for the day everyone moved here, I refused to use Reddit otherwise I would have been posting this kin cringe on the original. I'm all for laughing at ridiculous snarts but the fact that it was pretty much the only thing on the sub sucked ass, plus all of the weird "girl power" stuff.

Blame Reddit's ass-sucking thoughtpolice mods for turning TiA into a den of troon-heavy bile and loathing. When they kicked all of the ratfem subs into the furnace to join the ashes of right-leaning political subs and shitholes like the incel and racemonger subs (but only the white ones, naturally), the refugees flocked to us and managed (unlike previous refugees) an in based on the one subject of dislike that we had in common.

And once they were in, they naturally set up and made themselves at home. I don't know if you paid any attention towards the end there, but there were a lot of ratfems letting their natural misandry hang out whenever they got pushback on any of their posts or comments; accusations of commenters being incels and misogynists were increasing pretty steadily.

Yeah, I bit my tongue over the rad-fem slant the last year because it was the only place to speak my mind, but they really were insufferable.

Ehhhh...

If the objective it's to simple laught at idiots, then yes, otherkin are indeed hilarious, there's no denying that. In the question of social relevancy though... not so much.

Again, that's perfectly fine, but my problem with these posts are the people who (for some reason) end up getting upset over this shit, even though otherkin have zero relevancy outside of their little bubbles.

It used to happen somewhat frequently on the old sub.

Otherkin are pretty much proto-xenogender. They tried to push their brand of insanity a little bit too early and it didn't take off. But pretty much the same idea, but rebranded as a separate gender and tied to fake autism was accepted in woke circles without problems.

I wouldn't say zero relevancy. Back before TiA went into the deep end of the shit-filled pool by covering the full spectrum of IdPol insanity, there were posts showing pretty clear links between the mindset around being (and, more importantly, validating someone else's being) otherkin and increasingly more politicized identities. I'm not saying otherkin directly led to this, mind, but more the way of thinking that made it appealing.

Hand in hand with that, there were people who definitely hunted among otherkin for converts to their particular causes, in much the same way that troons now groom confused gay boys and girls with their particular rhetoric.

I remember for a brief moment Otherkin types were playing the identity politics game. They tried to push the idea of human/non-Otherkin privilege, clearly didn't take off. Then there was anti-Otherkin = ableism. Eventually once Fictionkin became a big thing they tied in stuff like race, sexuality, and eventually gender. God forbid the Anime character you're larping as doesn't 100% match you as a person.

So they were calling themselves mentally ill?

What a self-own lol

So they were calling themselves mentally ill?

Yes. In Tumblr logic being mentally ill was good. No wonder the world is so fucked now.

Generally I think it's just having a lack of common sense, or having such an open mind your brains fall out.

I've known a number of furries and the like from college and they fall into the "I accept I have this weird fetish and just don't talk about it with normal people that don't get it, I just wanna be left alone.' and the "this is my whole life and I'm going to he weird about it"

The former are normal and more or less good people you'll get along with, they dislike the latter, I prefer the latter because they are more entertaining to watch (from a considerable distance).

It's a basic fact of group dynamics, true of the gays, religious types, politics, sports, hobbies, anything, allow one aspect of your personality to wholely dominate your life and you'll be a social pariah quickly.

allow one aspect of your personality to wholely dominate your life and you'll be a social pariah quickly.

At that point, the pro move is to make your one aspect worth a shitton of oppression points, at which point the social pariahs are the ones who don't immediately get on their knees and adore you.

This isn't surprising at all, as there's a clear overlap between otherkin and other idpol groups.

Idpol snowflake identities are like fetishes: they cluster together, which is due to the people who buy into them wanting to get more and more oppression points to flaunt around.

Being "opressed" is a virtue after all, isn't it?!

Should otherkin have human rights is the question. If you identify as non-human wouldn't exercising your human rights be disphoria?

Well no shit dress like a weirdo and people will treat you like a weirdo.

This is of course the classic "stop paying attention to me" style of toxic femininity where people want the attention but don't want other people to think they want the attention. If you don't want people to stare at your ass, don't wear a thong. If the disapproving stares of fatphobes bothers you at the beach, don't wear a bikini.

The "punk" tag at the end makes me laugh. I don't know shit about punks, honestly, but pretty sure whining about people looking at you is, like, the least punk thing ever.

It's normal to wear them in public if you are younger than 15. After that, it's a grey area. If its just cus its cute and goofy, sure. If you wear them cus you think you are that animal, it's weird.
