Eh not necessarily, some people (like me) don’t do it because we’re attracted to the characters or even write/draw specifically sexualized content. We’re just attracted to their dynamic, think they have good chemistry and because they’re the same-sex (or adopted) we don’t have that guilt of knowing they’re related stopping us from shipping them.

To be fair, that’s still an extremely small portion of the anime market in general and the only ones who even watch that stuff are socially maladjusted incels that even Japan makes fun of.

And that's still part of my point. Even if it's an extremely small portion of the market as a whole, it's enough of the market that some of it that there's people willing to make it. If the extremely small portion of the market is equal to "people who'd be willing to act on it", then it makes sense. However, the amount of it made Stateside and how it keeps rising upwards would be a question mark there.

Is it rising stateside though? I mean most het “incest” porn being made in the West is still stepfamily based and Game Of Thrones is still the only Western show I know of that features a romanticized depiction of heterosexual incest of any kind.

The reason why it seems like a lot fetishy hetero incest anime is being made is because despite the small amount of viewers, that small amount of Otaku have tons of money in their pocket to burn, (Japan is a 1st world nation akin to the development of Western nations remember) so though they might be few in number their willingness to overspend is what causes the market to cater to them and makes it seem like there’s more of an audience for this type of an anime than there actually is.

Again, as I had said earlier in this- while most het "incest" porn in the West is stepfamily-based, two other things also need to be noticed of: 1) How much of that het "incest" porn involves sex with multiple partners (which alone makes it more and more farfetched they're all stepfamily per-partner added)...but specifically, 2) How many of those threesomes go on to involve Stepmother/Stepdaughter/"the guy", in which case the whole claim "nope, they're just stepfamily, no blood relations" falls apart naturally. If it's a stepmother with her children, and both are stepbrother/stepsister, then it's impossible for one of those children to not be her blood-related child (either the mother is fucking her biological son/daughter with their stepsibling, or biological brother/sister having sex with their stepmother, but they can't all be step-family.) So...no, no it doesn't work that way. And with Game of Thrones...Game of Thrones was noted for a level of intense lore that you just don't get from your average garden variety porn scene. No, people aren't going to see some intense lore about the family life of this hot hung stud and his horny MILF mom/aunts and barely legal sisters each begging for some hard cock to explain how they're all not blood-related so this is all okay.

While you're right, the big question is less "do the otaku have tons of money to burn for the things they love", and the real question that needs to be asked, "does this rise in incest-based porn/fanfics/etc., in turn mean there's more people who'd be interested in engaging in incest for real?" Would some woman who can't get enough SamXDean content to see brothers having sex, or some man who's addicted to some stepfetish porn site, in turn be willing to entertain sex with their own family member? (If this question's asked, it'd also have more views to go through, likely giving answers to other questions of "hentai/porn fetish" vs. "real world sick shit."

Pretty sure not unless it was same-sex which itself is a natural and morally neutral thing to begin with.

or some man who's addicted to some stepfetish porn site, in turn be willing to entertain sex with their own family member?

Again see above, neither of these actions are the direct insanity equivalent of engaging in opposite-sex blood related incest. Now if the two people in question were getting off to blood related heterosexual incest then I’d be concerned, but the scenarios you proposed are only socially constructed taboos and thus of no real concern.
