The TRA ideology is insanely close to 1984 in so many ways.

In 1984 much time is dedicated to language. effectively the language is changed to the point where wrongthink becomes almost impossible because people no longer have the words to express an idea.

The TRA activists are obsessed with changing and policing language in such a way that the spoken language itself will gaslight everyone who can plainly see the truth. "Sex change" accurately describes an operation or procedure which is meant to make one sex look like the opposite. "Gender affirming" as a replacement does 2 things. It removes the concept of sex from people's vocabulary and it implies the operation is just reaffirming something which already existed. It is not accurate at all but it makes the act of wrongthink much more difficult.

Call what it is, surgical mutilation. Don't play their word games.

I don't think most people would really care if someone could actually change their gender, but chopping off your dick and leaving an open wound that smells like feces and has a hair ball problem is not it.

Similarly obviously, chicks cutting off their tits doesn't make them men.

What does any of the word salad doctors use matter when we're just finding different ways to avoid discussing the elephant in the room.

It's true mutilation. Not just the removal of something that gets in the way or looks ugly. But actually something necessary for the advancement of the human race.

I'm not sure that language is helpful, because people get similar surgeries all the time for legitimate reasons (like mastectomies for breast cancer). Implying that these people are "mutilated" seems harmful and probably will add stigma to detransition. I view it similarly to elective cosmetic surgery. It definitely should not be praised in front of kids.

Cutting off a diseased part of the body is medicine. And the goal of cosmetic surgery is to improve one's appearance. SRS is neither of those things. Cutting off healthy, normal bits is mutilation.

probably will add stigma to detransition

I think hurting their feeling with a blunt choice of words is the least of post-op detrans concerns. I don't know if you read r/detrans, but these people know they fucked up bad. I don't think sugar-coating it is going to do any good.

Also if it's gender affirmation then why aren't insurers and government paying for non-trans people to get surgeries to affirm their gender? Free boob jobs for all.

In a few years the first lawsuits will be filed against teachers that groomed kids to get tranny hormone shots. Think of all the ruined retirements.

Honestly, if it's doctors or even teachers doing it, the people who are firm cultists would cackle with delight and say "money vacuum from richies go brrr" while continuing.

The message won't be able until people can also sue the online friends who convinced them to transition.

Probably "sex removal surgery" is most accurate, at least in the case of MtF.

Just ask them "Oh, so you don't have a Y chromosome anymore?"

"gender affirmation" language is a holdover from five years ago when the narrative was that you couldn't change your sex, only your gender.
